This brief Pokémon journey has come to an end.
There's no arguing with how short it was-that's an undeniable fact. Still, I did finish all the planned content. The original plan was always to end after one League tournament.
For various reasons, though, I cut some parts along the way and skipped some content.
Although the main storyline stayed the same overall, the side stories ended up very different from what I'd initially planned.
In the first version, the protagonist was supposed to graduate right at the start, and the story would begin with their work as a Ranger. But as I kept writing, it drifted off course...
There were quite a few problems. I never felt this way when writing One Piece, but writing Pokémon made me realize it was much harder than I'd imagined, and very different from One Piece.
The biggest problem was still the updates. If they hadn't been so sluggish, the book would have done much better than it did, but I really couldn't get the words out...
Some things... just couldn't be written about, either. If I wrote something that raised an issue with the story's messaging, the whole book might simply disappear.
If I write another Pokémon novel, I think it'll be better... This one served as a learning experience.
In theory, the new book should come out next month.
For now, I'll take some time to rest and recuperate. I've got some inflammation that needs time to settle down.
Then, as usual, I'll add a few side stories...
Wishing you all good health and all the best. If fate allows, I'll see you again in the new book.
