Xin Mu was no stranger to speeches by freshman representatives. They were part of the routine every year when the new students arrived.
As for the speakers...
The freshman representative, the graduate student representative, the faculty representative... From beginning to end, the whole thing could put people straight to sleep, but it was all part of the procedure.
The speech would probably be written by some overworked student council grunt. Xin Mu just had to get onstage and read it.
Things with the School Team were even simpler. No matter how eloquently anyone spoke, the issue would ultimately have to be settled through a Pokémon battle.
This was a world with Pokémon, after all. Theory could be put into practice, and an accomplished theorist certainly couldn't get by on smooth talk alone.
Take Samuel Oak, for example. Everyone knew he was an outstanding Pokémon Professor, but most young people had no idea that Professor Oak was also an exceptional Trainer. Even Agatha, one of the Elite Four, had never managed to beat him. It was only later that he had chosen to pursue research.
If a coach was terrible at battling, nobody would believe he could teach anyone else. At its core, Xin Mu had gained an immediate say in the School Team because Meownei could fight. That was also one of the reasons Jia Qiong had added him to the assistant coaching staff-as a safety net.
"An admissions brochure... Has our principal misunderstood something?"
Did their stream have viewers? Yes. By now, they even had a regular audience.
Although Iono had returned to Paldea to resume her work as a Gym Leader, that didn't stop her from occasionally playing games online with Meownei. Those streams did fairly well, too.
The problem was...
All the stream's popularity belonged to Meownei.
