In this world, amid this mortal dust, the only life and death I can decide... is my own. I am willing to trade my life for Zhen Kong's..."
"Foolish, foolish!" Namo Great Practice Samantabhadra Bodhisattva could not help but rebuke him. "Chun Zang, leaving aside that you are... merely the great responsibility of Seeking Scriptures in the Pure Land that you bear means you cannot lightly speak of life and death. Your life and death no longer belong to yourself, but to Thunder Sound Temple and the Immortal Palace. Your death... may send millions, tens of millions of lives to their graves!"
Hearing Namo Great Practice Samantabhadra Bodhisattva's words, Chun Zang felt an inexplicable wave of disgust rise within him. He was profoundly repulsed by this sort of sacrificing the lesser self to fulfill the greater cause. Moreover, he seemed to hear meanings beyond Seeking Scriptures in the Pure Land in those words. Yet he revealed nothing. Pressing his palms together, he said, "Namo Amitabha Buddha! This disciple has already obtained the Great Ascension Buddhist scriptures from Thunder Sound Temple. After this disciple is gone, Zhen Kong, Zhen Han, and Zhen Feng need only deliver the scriptures
