Chapter 25: Indigo Plateau ③
At the highest point of the Stadium, I looked down on the fierce battle unfolding around a boy in a red cap.
The enormous Charizard clashed with the ominously evolved Garchomp, and Garchomp won. Cheers erupted, and I saw the two Trainers clasp hands tightly, congratulating each other on a splendid battle.
Another boy landed behind the boy who was watching with narrowed eyes.
"You came somewhere like this too?"
A boy in a blue tracksuit stood beside him, still overlooking the Stadium. He had brown hair, and his blue eyes shone with confidence.
The blue-eyed boy looked down at the battlefield and murmured after seeing the result.
"Uh, the one in the finals?"
The boy had once battled the woman who had just finished fighting. And he had lost.
He still had not fully found the answer to what had been said back then. Even so, I felt I could find something close to an answer.
The boy in the red cap beside him turned his gaze toward the jade-eyed boy. Understanding what the boy in the red cap meant, the other boy curled his lips into a smile and spoke.
"Hm? Oh, I fought her before. You'll have to be strong."
"Well, after watching that battle, there's no need to say whether you're strong."
A high-level battle had been unfolding. For a start, none of the Trainers in this tournament could be weak.
After watching the two Trainers making their way toward the gate, the boy in the red cap turned and released Charizard from a Poké Ball.
"Are you going?"
The boy in the red cap nodded. Seeing that, the jade-eyed boy, Green, released a Pidgeotto from his Poké Ball with a look of distaste.
