Open your eyes.
Endless darkness stretched out before me. A cold world where I could neither see nor hear anything. Once again, I had visited a world I felt I had been to before.
"Here..."
My consciousness grew hazy.
Yet even through that haze, I knew who I was.
And why I had come here.
When I turned around, I saw that familiar green light.
"You... I've seen you before."
The green lights-no, the eyes-did not respond. They merely stared at me.
"Hey, you."
I took a step toward the green eyes.
But a voice rang out as though to interrupt everything.
"Why are you here?"
The sudden voice made me turn my head.
Black clothes and a black hood. I could not see his face, nor could I make out his voice clearly through the noise mixed into it. But I had heard it before. That was how it felt.
"Who are you?"
The man in black did not answer.
"Are you unconscious?"
"Hey, answer me."
I spoke urgently, but the man made no attempt to answer.
"You came here without realizing it? As I thought, you too... Shall we go a little deeper?"
The man only said things I could not understand, never answering my questions.
"If you lose consciousness, you won't be able to do anything. You'll wander through nightmares forever, never waking up."
With that, the man vanished as though melting into the darkness.
The man was gone, but those green eyes remained behind him. They merely stared at me, without complaint.
"Ah, I see."
I let out a relieved breath, as though I had become certain of something.
Then the golden light I had seen before shone.
"I'll be back."
And with that, my consciousness turned into light.
The next day.
