Mystical Fire tried to engulf Mawile again, but just as before, he quickly smothered the flames with cream.
"This guy's fighting style is way too mischievous. It's hard to imagine what he's normally like!"
"This is my style."
If you did that, the cream would stick to you again. If you attacked physically, the cream got in the way; if you cleared the cream away, flames burned you while you did it. An endless loop. That was how Alcremie suppressed physical attacks. Of course, I thought there were plenty of ways to overcome it. But for Mawile, at least, it was certainly a difficult position!
"Then use Flash Kanon!"
"Get away!"
If he couldn't fire at close range, he would use Flash Kanon again. However, Mawile wasn't good at special attacks to begin with. As before, Dazzling Gleam easily deflected it. In addition, the dazzling light released from the center of the cream scattered the cream around Alcremie, temporarily blocking Mawile's sight.
"Special attacks aren't working at all!? Where's Alcremie!?"
Alcremie took the opportunity to hide. Needless to say, the hiding place was inside the cream, but the problem was how much ground it covered. Every collision between attacks made the cream burst, spreading it so widely that Beat couldn't tell where Alcremie was hiding from his position. The next attack was unavoidable.
"Dazzling Gleam."
"From below!?"
Suddenly, light erupted beneath Mawile's feet, throwing him into the air before he crashed straight to the ground. It was a strike from Alcremie, who had slipped beneath the cream. Although Mystical Fire couldn't be used inside the cream, Dazzling Gleam was Alcremie's specialty. Even against an average opponent, simply setting up something like this wouldn't normally inflict so much damage.
"Good job, Alcremie."
"Alcre!"
Alcremie was delighted that the battle was proceeding
