The three followed Tonio up the spiral staircase.
"We're climbing the Space Tower now, the tower that symbolizes Palkia's space. Since we're still on the stairs, we can't see anything representing space, but a little farther up, we'll reach the hall. There's something there that symbolizes it."
"This tower... both towers are fully connected?"
"Yes, a bridge connects the two towers, so you can go back and forth between their halls."
As they talked, the three arrived in the Space Tower's hall.
Inside the hall, an enormous sphere revolved along a fixed orbit.
"This object symbolizes space. According to the records, it was created in the image of Palkia's power."
"Palkia is the god who governs space. This sphere represents the space of the 'universe' and 'Earth' we live in."
"As I thought, you don't need me to explain."
"That's amazing, Miss Cynthia. You understood what it meant at a glance."
"I've seen many things. Even when something falls outside my specialty, I still know a little about it, so I simply compared that with the information I received from Mr. Tonio and made a guess."
If you already knew what it symbolized, it really wasn't difficult. Cynthia specialized in mythology, so she knew even more than Tonio about Pokémon regarded as gods, such as Palkia and Dialga. With that prior knowledge, it wasn't particularly difficult for Cynthia to predict what the object represented.
"According to mythology, Arceus was born from the void, then brought forth Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina and created the world."
"Oh, you know about Giratina too. Giratina isn't mentioned much in the myths most people know."
"Giratina? Tonio, is there a Pokémon like that?"
"Yes. Dialga controls time, Palkia controls space, and Giratina is the Pokémon who supports us from the other side of the world."
