Icirrus City was the largest city in western Unova.
Calling it a city might have been a bit of a stretch, though.
Unlike a metropolis such as Castelia City, with its rows of towering skyscrapers, there was no dizzying forest of glass curtain walls here.
The tallest building was merely an old clock tower several dozen meters high, weathered by the years, silently overlooking the broad swaths of brightly colored, low-rise houses below.
This distinctive urban landscape was, naturally, inseparable from its unusual location.
After all, a modern metropolis rising at the foot of towering, unbroken snowy mountains would have been a stretch even for cyberpunk.
Yet what the city lacked in size, it made up for in scenery.
It was November. Elsewhere, autumn might still have held sway, but Icirrus City had long since been buried beneath deep snow.
As far as the eye could see, heaven and earth were a flawless, pristine white.
Against that snowy backdrop, the buildings of Icirrus City boasted strikingly vivid colors-
Bright yellow walls, ocher-red roofs, sapphire-blue window frames.
They reminded Xia Chi of Alto Mare, the city of water he had visited in the Hoenn Region.
The pace of life here also resembled Alto Mare's in some ways: relaxed and peaceful.
It was as though even time had slowed, steeped in ice and snow.
Pedestrians strolled leisurely along the streets, and the Pokémon beside them seemed just as unhurried.
Most of the Pokémon commonly seen here were Ice-types naturally suited to bitter cold, such as Snorunt, Vanillish, and Cryogonal. Some played in snowbanks, while others rested quietly beneath the eaves, blending into the snowy scenery.
The second most common type, however, was Fire-type.
