A red light flashed as Abe recalled Weavile into a Poké Ball.
As Abe studied the opponent before him, his Pokémon kept up their assault, now coordinating more closely to cover one another's openings. The armored Pokémon seemed able to see its opponents' next moves, evading attacks at precisely the right moment and exploiting their openings to counterattack.
Future Sight. The signature Psychic-type move came to Abe's mind. Only that move could explain the exquisite timing with which their opponent avoided danger and seized opportunities. Ultimately, however, the future was not something that could actually be observed. The move worked by comprehensively enhancing a Pokémon's intuition, shortening its thinking time and speeding up its reactions to create the impression of seeing the future. In other words...
"As long as we attack in a way you don't expect, we can hit you!" Having made up his mind, Abe gave a coded signal. His five remaining Pokémon instantly changed formation.
Ninjask launched another high-speed Fury Cutter assault, only to face yet another barrage of Rock Slide. Just then, Crobat appeared with its whole body glowing, throwing itself into a Return attack to intercept the falling rocks for Ninjask. Seizing the opportunity, Ninjask finally closed in and tied up their opponent.
"Gengar! Shadow Ball!"
Gengar's Shadow Ball came from a direction their opponent could never have anticipated. Using Ninjask as cover, it hurtled straight in from behind Ninjask, putting even its own teammate within the attack's range!
The mysterious Pokémon took the Shadow Ball head-on, and the researcher held behind it by Confusion fell to the ground.
