Slowpoke, however, could rely on his Ability, Regenerator, to weather the damage. In the games, Regenerator restored Slowpoke's stamina after he left battle. Unlike in the games, Regenerator could also restore stamina during battle in the real world, though its effect was weaker.
Still, something was better than nothing. With Regenerator, Slowpoke could slowly recover his stamina, and he had far more stamina than Carbink to begin with. If his strategy worked, Slowpoke would be the last one standing.
Of course, Carbink would not simply sit there and wait to lose. He wanted to attack, wear Slowpoke down, and force him out of the battle early, but the clever Slowpoke had already thought of a countermeasure.
Whenever Carbink tried to attack, Slowpoke interrupted his move with Disable. Although Slowpoke's Disable was not powerful enough to hurt Carbink, it was enough to interrupt his attacks and prevent him from landing a single hit.
