Only after Yue Chen walked out of the carriage did White-Dress Girl turn her gaze to Red-Dress Girl, who had slumped onto the sofa.
"Xiao Xiao?" White-Dress Girl waved her little hand in front of Xiao Xiao's eyes and asked, her voice full of concern, "What happened to you just now? That wasn't like you at all."
"So alike." Red-Dress Girl ignored the orange juice covering her hands and buried her face in them, murmuring softly.
White-Dress Girl paused, then bent down and leaned closer to hear what she was saying.
"He's so much like Imperial Father~"
White-Dress Girl blurted, "Huh?"
"H-hello. Excuse me, are you a new attendant?" Seeing Yue Chen emerge again so soon after entering, the female attendant stationed outside the carriage finally worked up the courage to ask.
"Huh?" Already full of questions, Yue Chen froze at hers. After a moment of silence, he answered, "For the time being, apparently."
"Oh." She nodded, only half understanding.
Seeing that Yue Chen had no intention of chatting with her, she tactfully kept quiet.
"Let me give you some advice," Yue Chen suddenly said. "When the caravan passes through the Southeast Fortress checkpoint, you'd better find a chance to leave."
"Why?" the girl asked, blinking in confusion.
"I'm just giving you another option." Yue Chen took a pouch containing several dozen gold coins from his Storage Ring and tossed it into her hands. "Things have been unsettled in demon territory lately. My advice is to go straight home."
With that, Yue Chen turned, opened the door, and entered the carriage again.
Once inside, Yue Chen discovered that only White-Dress Girl remained in the sitting room.
Is the other one in the compartment at the back now? Yue Chen glanced that way before sitting down on the sofa again.
