In ancient times, the Dragon Race flourished and once ruled the entire continent.
Dragons were immensely powerful, greedy and tyrannical by nature, and extraordinarily lustful. They felt a fierce desire to possess creatures of every race, and their forced mating produced many lesser dragon species, such as earth dragons.
Chimeras were the strongest of these lesser dragons. They first arose when an extremely rare poison dragon mated with a dark-attribute lizard magical beast. Their offspring mutated into two-headed dragons possessing both poison and darkness attributes.
At the time, however, chimeras were only slightly stronger than dark lizards and weaker than poison dragons.
Yet chimeras possessed extraordinary vitality.
Under the poison dragon's rule, more and more two-headed chimeras appeared among the dark lizards. After thousands of years of reproduction and natural selection, the dark lizards died out. Once that poison dragon died, the chimera race formally took shape.
Chimeras lacked their poison dragon ancestor's great strength, but inherited its lust. Through continual evolution as they reproduced, even more powerful beings emerged among them.
A chimera's strength was measured by its number of heads.
Even the strongest two-headed chimera could only reach the initial stage of a level-nine magical beast.
Three-headed chimeras could already approach the threshold of level ten, with strength extremely close to that of true dragons.
Four-headed chimeras were called dragons of destruction. They possessed dragon blood, yet fed on true dragons, because once a chimera evolved to have four heads, its overall strength surpassed that of a true dragon.
Four-headed chimeras were also called emperor chimeras, the rulers of their race.
According to legend, five-headed chimeras were demigods and the totems of the chimera race.
Six-headed chimeras had never appeared. Legends claimed they were gods-gods of destruction on the same level as the Dragon God.
