The Mummy Returns!
A tall figure gradually materialized amid the windblown sand.
Like the figures depicted in Ancient Egyptian murals, he was bare-chested, wearing only a loincloth called a "nugbe" around his waist. His entire body was hairless, his head as bald as a scarab.
Because of Egypt's hot, humid climate, clothing was an ornament rather than a necessity. From pharaohs to commoners, everyone shaved off all their body hair to stay cool and fresh. The magnificent headdresses of Ancient Egyptian pharaohs in the murals were actually all wigs.
The resurrected man's complexion was highly abnormal. It lacked the sheen of living skin and was instead a dusty, earthy gray, as though he had been molded from sand and soil.
But the strangest thing was his pair of eyes. Their whites had turned an evil black, and the boundary between them and his black pupils had almost disappeared.
Whether they were there in person or watching through a screen, everyone had the same thought.
