Madara Uchiha made to charge at the two Jinchūriki, but two fleeting figures streaked in like lightning, pinning him between them from the left and right, front and back.
"Don't move, or I'll cut your head off."
A flash of sword light flew like a shooting star and came to rest against Madara Uchiha's throat.
"Bold words, but there's not a trace of killing intent in your sword, little girl."
Madara Uchiha remained calm, without any sense of danger. He glanced down at Yamanashi Inaba, who held her katana against his neck, and chuckled.
"Why don't you actually cut? You're still attached to this vessel, still clinging to your fantasies."
Anger surfaced on her face, pale as ivory porcelain, and Yamanashi Inaba's icy composure wavered.
"Give Naruto... give Naruto back to us!"
"Hmph!"
Madara Uchiha snorted and even deliberately stepped forward, letting the blade cut his skin.
Yamanashi Inaba's pretty face instantly turned deathly pale, and she hurriedly pulled her blade back.
"As I thought, you still can't bring yourself to do it."
Just then, the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan in Madara Uchiha's eyes spun.

Without any visible movement from him, a blow struck the back of Yamanashi Inaba's neck, sending her petite body toppling headfirst to the ground.

Jeanne cried out behind Madara Uchiha, but before she could open the Eight Gates, an invisible attack knocked her unconscious as well.

Glancing at the two unconscious women on the ground, Madara Uchiha lowered his eyes. A flicker of reminiscence passed through them before indifference filled them again.
"Love has no value. The only thing that can be passed down and etched into your very bones is hatred!"
