Jiraiya did not pay it much mind.
He said excitedly:
"With this thing, sneaking into Amegakure will be much easier."
"We just need to be careful along the way and not readily give away who we really are."
Ye Chen nodded and said:
"That's right. Sorry for the trouble, but please guide Toad Hide into my pocket, sir, so I can carry you into Amegakure."
Without another word, Jiraiya climbed back into Toad Hide's belly.
With a leap, Toad Hide landed in Ye Chen's palm.
Enduring the discomfort in his hand, Ye Chen carefully tucked Toad Hide into his shirt pocket.
Fortunately, Ye Chen was wearing a loose shirt.
With Toad Hide tucked into his pocket without directly touching his skin, Ye Chen finally breathed a soft sigh of relief.
He turned and walked toward Amegakure's entrance, where a squad of guards on watch came over and surrounded him.
"Hey! Who are you? What are you doing here?"
A guard barked the questions without the slightest courtesy.
Without any hesitation, Ye Chen took out the identification and letter of introduction he had shown earlier.
The guards checked them several times, then asked a few "irrelevant" questions before letting Ye Chen into Amegakure.
He had not gone far before he reached another checkpoint.
Unsurprisingly, Ye Chen was questioned again, though this time it was relatively easier.
Only after passing through several checkpoints did he finally enter Amegakure.
It was easy to imagine how tight Amegakure's security was.
Ye Chen strolled into the village, which had a much higher degree of mechanization.
Along the way, he could see plenty of massive machines parked beside the road, left for the rain to wash over them, their surfaces covered in rust.
Once he entered Amegakure, the raindrops grew even denser.
Ye Chen knew that
