At that moment in the Edd War Sea, both sides were still focused on the battle before them. Not a single person noticed the change in their surroundings.
Everyone naturally assumed that the storm gradually enveloping the sea was another aftereffect of their battle. In a sense, they were too caught up in it to see clearly.
Ten minutes later, by the time the combatants realized something was wrong, the apocalyptic storm had already taken shape. It was almost too late to escape.
The Flying Pirates' enormous fleet bore the brunt of it. Compared with the Oro Jackson, which was far better built and had numerous powerful fighters aboard, these shoddily constructed pirate ships had no way to resist the terrifying storm.
Before long, untold numbers of pirate ships had been swept into the storm.
Every pirate ship did everything it could to escape the storm's reach, but none could advance even a little. Instead, the storm kept dragging them toward its center.
Meanwhile, the sudden storm robbed Roger and Shiki of any desire to continue their fierce battle. Both had to return to their flagships to take command.
"Hahaha, Shiki! Looks like your luck isn't too good!"
Standing at the bow of the Oro Jackson, Roger called out mockingly to Shiki.
"Hmph, Roger, don't celebrate too soon. You can escape for now, but you can't escape forever. Hopefully, the next time we meet, you'll be my vice-captain!"
Unwilling to back down in the face of Roger's mockery, Shiki fired back, though everyone could hear the frustration in his voice.
"Haha, worry about surviving this storm first. Hopefully, your Flying Fleet will still be intact the next time we meet." As Roger spoke, his gaze kept sweeping over the pirate ships being ravaged by the storm.
