"A diadem. Ravenclaw's Diadem. Legend has it that whoever wears it gains wisdom beyond ordinary people, and any difficult problem becomes easy to solve."
Gerald smiled.
Well, wasn't that a coincidence? That diadem you mentioned just happened to be in my hands.
But there was no way he could tell Vivian any of that.
Chapter 155: You Call This Expecto Patronum?
Gerald and Vivian arrived by the Black Lake.
The Black Lake had not completely frozen over in December. A small patch of dark water at its center still rippled gently in the cold wind.
"So, can you tell me now? What aspect of Transfiguration did you want to ask about?" Gerald turned sideways to look at Vivian.
"What, are you busy? Can't I ask you to come out unless it's about studying?"
Vivian lowered her head and lightly kicked a small pebble on the stone path with the toe of her boot.
"That's not it."
How strange. What was going on with Vivian?
Gerald leaned against the bare trunk of a beech tree beside the Black Lake, feeling rather puzzled.
He had known Vivian for almost a year and a half. From their first Charms class at the start of last year until now, this young lady of the Carrow family had always been cool, proud, and fiercely competitive around him.
But today, Vivian seemed a little different from usual.
Vivian stood by the lake with her back to Gerald, remaining silent for a long while before speaking.
"You know, the first time I noticed you was in Charms class during our first week. Professor Flitwick was teaching the Levitation Charm. While everyone else was still trying to make their feathers twitch, you could already float an entire textbook."
She turned around, her expression somewhere between envy and self-mockery.
