Forget it. There was no such thing as a free lunch. He had borrowed the other's good luck to kill Hvin Rambis and then save Earl Hall. Now it was time to pay the price.
But after thinking for a moment, he asked a question that was very important to him:
"Your Excellency Ouroboros, do you know that the Lord... has two personalities?"
Ouroboros gazed at Edward with utterly placid eyes. "Perhaps."
"Then... which personality sent you to find me?"
He tilted his head slightly, looking a little adorably vacant again. "I don't know."
"I mean, was it the rational side or the mad side?"
Ouroboros lowered his eyes and considered for a moment. "I don't know."
All right.
"Let's go."
Ouroboros reached out and patted Edward on the shoulder, and the two vanished without a sound.
Only then did Phoenix discover that he had finally returned to normal. He turned around happily. "It's working... Huh? Where did they go?"
Light and darkness flashed before Edward's eyes, and he found himself back in the dining room of the Hall Family Villa. He froze for a moment. He had thought Ouroboros would take him straight to the Forsaken Land of the Gods.
The dining room was completely empty now. After bringing him out, Ouroboros remained where he was for some reason, making no further move.
"What's wrong?"
Ouroboros did not respond. He simply looked quietly toward the dining room door.

A woman in a classical hooded robe appeared. Her expression was vacant, but deep starlight shone in her eyes.
Edward recognized her identity instantly and nearly burst into tears. Mommy Evernight has come to save me! All those things I bought all over the world and gave her weren't for nothing!
