"You didn't want to leave Opera Borough, so you moved into a haunted house?"
Edward scoffed. "Take a guess whether I believe that."
Dubois shrugged. "As far as I know, precisely because you lived there safely for two or three weeks and came away unscathed, the broker renting out the house is now claiming there's nothing wrong with it at all."
"Oh, so I've become their spokesperson?"
"Spokesperson?"
"Ahem, that's not important."
Dubois said, "They're still in the living room. Would you like to see them?"
"Of course."
Edward had been worrying about being unable to find the young man behind Tarik, and now someone had come asking to rent 7 Rose Street. Weren't they delivering themselves right to his door?
He lightly tapped himself, changing his loungewear into a casual suit, then headed downstairs with his gem-inlaid Planner. Dubois watched with considerable envy. Though he wasn't as obsessed with suits as Rallard, he had always regarded his suits as his "companions." How wonderful it would be if he could learn that trick too.
On the ground floor, Edward saw a young married couple sitting on the sofa. They looked to be in their twenties and had typical Intis features.
The two were drinking coffee with anxious expressions, occasionally glancing to the side.
When the man turned his head again and saw Edward coming downstairs, he hurriedly stood. "Are you Mr. Klein Sparrow?"
"I am. Good morning, sir, madam."
The man hastily removed his hat and bowed. "Good morning, Mr. Sparrow. Please forgive us for calling unannounced. I'm Henry Ansettin, and this is my wife, Camille. Your butler has already told you why we're here, I take it?"
Edward gestured for the couple to sit and took a seat on the sofa opposite them. "Yes, that's right."
"Then would you..."
