What was going on?
Why were all Four Knights alive and well?
Chapter 581: A Deconstruction Scholar's Speculations on Acting
I deliberately stayed out of Roselle's expedition to the Primitive Island because I was worried about affecting the course of the future. Why were there still so many differences?
"Besides those strange Beyonder Creatures, what else did you encounter while exploring that island?"
Roselle shook his head. "Nothing. At the time, I was worried the ritual on the island might involve something, so I immediately ordered everyone to leave. We never explored it at all."
"No exploration of the island, a Worship Ritual that appeared ahead of time, Green still alive..."
Things had changed.
They were completely different from what the original novel described.
Edward's heart jolted. He hurriedly took out a coin and tossed it gently, silently reciting, Roselle is currently suffering from the Mother Goddess of Depravity's Corruption.
If Roselle really had been corrupted, the result would either be heads or a failed divination.
But when Edward opened his palm, he saw tails.
Roselle had not been corrupted!
This is serious trouble.
Edward's scalp suddenly tingled. Roselle not being corrupted by the Mother Goddess of Depravity meant that he would not be influenced into contacting Mr. Door and traveling to the moon in the future, becoming further corrupted by the Mother Goddess and building his final mausoleum on the Primitive Island.
That way, after being assassinated at White Maple Palace, he would successfully resurrect as planned, ascend as the Black Emperor, and become the immortal emperor of Intis.
Wouldn't that wreck the future?
For a moment, Edward's thoughts were a tangled mess. He felt as though he had stepped onto the edge of a cliff, with a bottomless chasm just one more step ahead.
No, no, not necessarily.
