Edward smiled. "Well? Have you accepted reality now?"
Amon looked at him calmly. "You couldn't possibly possess such tremendous power. Otherwise, even the Outer Deities would be nothing but playthings in your hands."
"That's true enough. Want to know what's really going on? I'm not telling."
Edward tilted his chin. "Shall we take a walk?"
Amon fell silent for a few seconds, then headed for the door. The instant they stepped through it, they were on a London street, both dressed in fashionable clothes of this era.
Edward wore a dark shirt and dress trousers, looking neat and sharp, while Amon wore a hip-hop-style leather jacket and leather cowboy shoes, giving him a very different air from usual.
"Hmm?"
Amon quickly scanned their surroundings and asked, "The architectural style here seems somewhat similar to Loen's. Who borrowed from whom?"
Edward smiled. "You're so certain the two worlds must be connected?"
He stared intently at Edward. "Aren't they?"
"Hmm."
After thinking for a moment, he said, "There is indeed some connection, but it isn't what you think."
Edward hailed a car and opened the door for Amon. "After you."
Once the taxi started moving, Amon looked around the interior and said, "This vehicle seems like a smaller version of a steam train, except... it doesn't seem to need coal."
Hearing this, the driver turned back with a smile. "Friend, this is the age of the internal combustion engine. Apart from a few old trains, who still uses steam engines?"
The driver spoke English, but with Edward there, Amon naturally understood him.
"An internal combustion engine?" Amon nodded slightly, then asked, "How does it work?"
"Uh... I don't know the specifics. Something about burning gasoline to generate heat, I suppose. Hey, I'm just a taxi driver."
Edward interrupted their conversation, looking exasperated.
