"But... I... I still..." Ginny stamped her feet in anger at Black Ginny's words. Yet when she opened her mouth, she could not think of what to say.
Black Ginny seemed to feel that she should not push Ginny too hard either, and offered a timely apology:
"Of course, I was certainly partly at fault here. I really didn't expect that little girl to be a natural medium. That spell should only have given her nightmares for a few days at most. Next time, if there is a next time, I'll definitely check everything properly. I absolutely, absolutely won't let anything like this slip through again."
"A next time?" Ginny demanded angrily, though her tone had softened considerably.
"Well, whether there is or isn't isn't something I can decide on my own, is it?" Black Ginny spread her hands inside the Mirror, looking utterly innocent:
"I can't deceive you or beguile you, but you can stop me. If you disagree with what I'm doing, you can stop me at any time, can't you? This really was just an accident. I can't lie to you. You know that."
"But..." Ginny's tone softened further. After hesitating for quite a while, she finally said with a frown, "Are we just going to carry on like this forever? This is no way to go on."
"Of course we can't stay like this forever," Black Ginny said firmly:
"I've been trying to find a way to get us out of our current situation, but you've seen that being yourself. His methods aren't so easy to unravel.
"It's only because He treats all this as a game. Otherwise, I'm afraid even all the wizards in the world put together couldn't stand against a single finger of His.
"Of course, He can't use all His abilities either.
