Harry had seen Professor Trelawney in this state, with his own eyes.
Others had seen it too, but through viewing Harry's memories.
Ever since Harry was able to use the Confusion Charm to let others view his memories, he had done so more than once. Don't ask; if you ask, using this ability that only he could use just felt utterly refreshing.
The time Harry had seen it previously, Trelawney had prophesied Peter Pettigrew's escape and Voldemort's return.
And what kind of prophecy had Trelawney made at this moment?
Harry and the others watched eagerly, one by one.
They saw that figure formed of silver mist. Instead of using her usual affected, ethereal tone, Trelawney spoke in a low, raspy, deeply unsettling voice:

At this point, Dumbledore opposite them suddenly moved, seeming to flick his hand.
Trelawney was not affected in the slightest, continuing: "-and he shall have power the Dark Lord knows not... and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives... the one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies..."
"What does this, what does this mean?" Harry asked with some hesitation.
"It means that the only person with the chance to completely defeat Voldemort was born at the end of July sixteen years ago. This boy's parents thrice defied Voldemort." A calm voice suddenly rang out behind them.
Harry and the others jumped in fright and hurriedly turned around to see that Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall had somehow already arrived
