"No one can enter Nagudinnaf without a sound, unless they aren't human!" an elderly wizard said arrogantly.
Although he looked very old, he seemed remarkably vigorous. He was tall, with a burly build rarely seen among wizards.
Were it not for his fair skin and the absence of that scorching, sunlike feeling, one might even have mistaken him for a werewolf.
Of course, there certainly wouldn't be any werewolves at Nagudinnaf.
In fact, over the past several hundred years, only two magic schools had ever admitted werewolf students-even students who had been bitten by werewolves and transformed later in life.
Hogwarts and Ilvermorny.
The former had admitted only one: Remus Lupin.
The latter was rather more open-minded toward werewolf wizards.
But even Ilvermorny almost never disclosed their identities as werewolves while they were still at school.
In the vast majority of cases, students only learned that one of their classmates was a werewolf many years after graduating.
Well, there were exceptions, of course.
Jacob Covenas, whom Daphne and the others knew, was one of the extremely rare cases whose classmates had known he was a werewolf while he was still at school.
But Jacob was exceptionally gifted and had been able to overcome his werewolf urges perfectly from a very young age. Combined with his sunny, outgoing personality, that had allowed him to make quite a few friends among his classmates at Ilvermorny.
His case, too, was unprecedented.
As for werewolves holding positions at schools, Professor Lupin at Hogwarts was very likely the only one, both in the past and for the foreseeable future.
"I agree with Scott," another old man beside him said with a chuckle. "The defensive magic arrays and detection spells were built up bit by bit over generations. No one could possibly enter without any warning."
