"Harry, what's wrong?" Sirius did not rush over to attack Voldemort immediately. Instead, he went to Harry's side.
Clearly, nothing mattered more to him than Harry. Seeing Harry fight Voldemort at close quarters just now (Harry: There were clearly still more than ten meters between us!) had nearly driven him frantic.
But Harry could not answer him.
At that moment, Harry felt waves of scorching heat inside his chest and abdomen. He had just absorbed those purple-red flames, and at first, he had felt nothing. But halfway through, he had realized something was wrong.
At first, he had merely felt hot all over, but judging by the heat inside him and the speed at which the flames were being absorbed, Harry had thought he could handle it.
Very soon, however, Harry had confirmed that thinking he could handle it and actually being able to handle it were two entirely different things.
Before he had absorbed even half, his internal organs had begun to burn, and he had hurriedly stopped. Even so, the heat inside him kept intensifying, as though the flames absorbed by the Magic-Devouring Vortex had entered his body.
"Harry, Harry? What's wrong?" Sirius cried, seeing Harry's clearly abnormal complexion.
"The consequences of overestimating himself." Snape's cold voice sounded beside them. "Though I don't know how he did it, he evidently converted those flames into magical power and absorbed them.
"But the process of converting magic into magical power did not completely strip away its properties, so he should currently be getting burned by the magical power he absorbed. Heh. He'll probably be cooked before long."
Sirius flew into a rage at Snape's snide words and turned to beat him up.
He did not care that Snape had only just recovered from a serious illness, or that beating him
