After his subordinates spent half a day searching, Nick Fury finally found his Avengers.
They were in the most heavily damaged neighborhood, right next to Queens.
But when he found the Avengers, he noticed that something was off about their moods.
The Avengers looked as though they had been dumped, their faces blank and dazed, as if they had nothing left to live for.
Even the usually rational Dr. Banner and Tony Stark were the same.
Nick Fury frowned.
"Now, can someone tell me what exactly happened?"
He spoke after looking around at them.
Unfortunately, not a single person spoke.
The Avengers were unusually silent.
Even Captain America was no exception.
What on earth happened?
Seeing them like this left Nick Fury rather bewildered.
The Kree Commander had clearly been killed, so why had the Avengers ended up like this?
"Stark, tell me exactly what happened!"
Nick Fury looked at Tony Stark as he spoke.
Tony Stark glanced at Nick Fury.
"Director Fury, do you believe there are gods in this world?"
Tony Stark spoke with utter seriousness.
He recalled what had happened not long ago.
The space amid the ruins had collapsed into specks of light, and a figure had stepped out. It was that young man.
Amid that terrifying power and those waves of destruction, he had still walked out unharmed.
Was that not a god?
"Gods? What the hell are you talking about, Stark!"
"Even if there is a god, he still has to follow our rules!"
Nick Fury snorted as he spoke.
"Director Fury, that's because you've never witnessed truly powerful strength!"
Tony Stark merely gave him a disdainful glance, leaving Nick Fury somewhat dumbfounded.
What was going on? Didn't Tony Stark always walk around with his nose in the air?
*Didn't he refuse to bow
