Karn shook hands with a middle-aged man as they spoke. Both wore very sincere smiles, though sincerity was something of a pipe dream when it came to businessmen. It was simply a matter of who profited in the end.
The penalty for breaching the contract was also set very high. If either party considered breaking it, they would effectively be making the other a millionaire in the wizarding world. If they refused both to honor the contract and to pay compensation, they would have to pay with their life and their surname.
The price was far too steep. Apart from lone dark wizards, anyone with any family assets would never do such a thing.

Karn said indifferently, "Who cares about them? As long as we make money. Kettle, leave someone else in charge of the shop for now. Your current task is to strike deals with the other families that trade in magical materials, preferably before word of the breach-of-contract terms gets out."
