The izakaya had served only one table of customers all morning: Karn and Tsunade.
Tsunade had said she needed to discuss something with Karn and brought him to the izakaya, but once there, she ordered plenty of fine liquor and began drinking at her leisure, looking everywhere but refusing to get to the point.
Karn had initially thought Tsunade had noticed his connection with Orochimaru, but as she kept drinking, he gradually caught on. "Tsunade, don't tell me you brought me here just to mooch drinks off me?"
"Idiot! I'm one of Konoha's Sannin. How could I possibly do something like that?"
Tsunade slapped her empty cup onto the table with a smack, then spoke to Karn with righteous indignation. If she hadn't taken several gulps right away and already flushed red, Karn might have believed her nonsense.
Karn tapped the table and said, "The casino staff reported to me a few days ago that you've lost a lot there lately."
At that, Tsunade nearly choked on the liquor in her throat. "Cough, cough... I came to ask you about the Calming Draught. I heard about it from Kushina a few days ago."
"You didn't just hear about it. You studied it too, didn't you?"
Karn exposed her without hesitation. Kushina was practically his little sweetheart now. No sooner had the Calming Draught been taken from her than she had come to tell Karn about it.
"You won't figure it out, Tsunade. This is a potion. Many of its ingredients are extremely rare-so rare you've never even heard of them. Even I don't have many potions on hand. They're for emergencies.
"Is that all you came to see me about? If so, why are you being so awkward?"
"You jerk, who are you calling awkward? I just didn't know how
