Recently, there had been numerous reports of people dying unexpectedly after being injected with Umbrella drugs. Reports had surfaced in the United States, Mexico, Japan, Canada, and elsewhere, but the incidents had quickly been quelled.
The news said that after officials, forensic doctors, and Umbrella personnel intervened to investigate, they discovered these were accidents caused by individual medical conditions and had nothing to do with the Umbrella Corporation's drugs. Nevertheless, the Umbrella Group had already provided compensation, and the situation had now settled down.
But Karn knew that Umbrella's influence had suppressed the incidents. Although the government institutions of various countries were still fully intact, Umbrella had long since monopolized numerous fields through its secret development.
Military technology, biopharmaceuticals, computing, national defense, and numerous other fields-avoiding Umbrella products was as difficult for ordinary Americans as avoiding taxes. Unless they were so poor they lived on the streets, in which case they might be able to avoid Umbrella products.
