Early the next morning, Phil and Isaac kept bringing a lavish breakfast to the table. Since Karn had a large appetite, food covered the long family dining table.
Pheobe rubbed her temples as she came to the table. Even her carefully applied makeup could not conceal her weary look.
"Professor, Granger brought me a glass of milk last night. After I drank it, I fell into a deep sleep."
She had intended to seek out Karn after Hermione left, but she had fallen fast asleep after returning to her room. By the time she opened her eyes again, it was already morning.
Karn cleared his throat twice, then said solemnly, "I know about this. I'll have a proper talk with Hermione. Sit down and have some breakfast first. I have something to tell you later."
Pheobe nodded, but inwardly she felt rather indignant. Professor Pent already spent so little time here, and now Granger had cost her an entire evening. Yet after glancing at the table settings, she asked in confusion, "Hasn't Granger come over?"
"She probably hasn't woken up yet."
"Oh."
Hearing this answer, Pheobe sat down to one side and began eating breakfast. But after only a couple of bites, her thoughts began stirring again. Perhaps after breakfast, she could...
It was not that Pheobe's desire was too strong, but that Karn possessed an air similar to a unicorn's, which held an inexplicable attraction for women. Just as men reacted upon seeing a Veela, it instinctively aroused hormonal desire.
