What I said in the previous chapter about dropping the book was partly out of spite, but after sleeping on it and thinking it over, making this decision really did leave me feeling relieved.
Lately, writing this book has become a burden. It has nothing to do with the workload; a lot of people have come to dislike it (my fault, the writing is bad).
I've already set a minimum of five hundred fan points to comment, but I can't stop comments from Apprentices and Disciples. These people are basically putting food on my table, so when they curse me out, I barely dare argue back. Even quietly deleting their posts makes me a little afraid they'll notice and then demand to know why I deleted them.
This book's performance was mediocre at first, so by chapter twenty-nine, I started letting myself go a little. I put up a standalone post saying I was going to put Itachi and Obito through hell. Since the book wasn't doing well anyway, I didn't have much to aim for.
Then, just before paid chapters began, I switched to the Harry Potter World and lost another wave of readers. With no hope of advancing, I hurriedly started charging for chapters.
Fortunately, the readers really came through. Along with that big spender's tips of a hundred a day back then and my fairly frequent updates, they carried me onto the category bestseller list, and the book's performance slowly began to improve.
But once it started doing well, the burden grew too. What I was writing had strayed too far from what I wanted to write.
All I wanted at the start was to write smut. I remember someone asking whether it would be a harem story before I'd even signed a contract, and I said
