"The Pills Alliance has sent an invitation. Because of a minor incident, they're holding the Genius Alchemist Competition ahead of schedule."
Gu Xun'er brought the Pills Alliance's invitation into Hermione's office and told her the news. Hermione, however, had no interest in such things. If it were an athletic competition or a fighting tournament, she might make time to watch.
But a bunch of people sitting around waiting for pills to emerge from their cauldrons-Hermione could not understand why that needed a competition. It was a complete waste of time.
"I won't go, but I can help you ask Karn."
Hermione tapped her wand against the desk. A few seconds later, Karn appeared in the room.
Hermione handed him the invitation and asked, "The Pills Alliance is holding a competition. Apparently, they've moved it up. Do you want to take a look?"
"Let me see. Moving it up this much, and making such big changes too-they've certainly had their work cut out for them. This competition could very well become a joke."
The competition had originally been two years away. Now its date had suddenly been brought forward considerably, and the age restrictions for some contestants had been relaxed. If nothing else, some younger contestants would certainly curse them for it, though it probably would not affect the geniuses of the Yao Clan.
Moreover, alchemists in the more distant parts of the Central Plains would probably have to set off as soon as they heard the news. After rushing to Holy Pill City, they would have to compete with perhaps only a few days to half a month to prepare.
