The death of a shadow clone would only leave Karn feeling unwell for a while, but the same could not be said for the people in Knockturn Alley. If the buildings within ten meters remained standing, that would mean their spellwork was good enough to have reinforced every single brick.
However, these dark wizards merely watched for the time being and did not choose to act.
Arriving outside Borgin and Burkes, Karn took a look before walking inside.
The shop was rather dark and filled with all sorts of objects, but Karn was extremely careful and touched none of them.
"You look unfamiliar, sir. Are you from somewhere else?"
A man who looked thin and frail but had unusually shrewd eyes appeared behind the counter. His fingers tapped rhythmically on its surface as he put on a merchant's mercenary smile.
"You can exchange Galleons for any service you desire at Borgin and Burkes, my unfamiliar gentleman."
"I hope it really is as you say. Galleons aren't a problem for me, as long as you can get the things on this list."
Karn paid no attention to Borgin and Burkes's sales pitch. He simply took out his list of required items, set it on the counter, and pushed it over.
Borgin and Burkes smiled silently, then picked up the list and looked it over. But the moment he saw its contents, his expression changed.
