[Intermediate Demon Hunter Set] [Rank: Ultra-Rare] [Attributes: overall strength +5, overall speed +5, overall defense +5, stamina +300, health +300.] [Additional attributes: magic defense +5.] [Exclusive skill: Holy Light Finisher Fist (unranked)] [Holy Light Finisher Fist: consumes 1 spirit point and 100 stamina to deal 300 magic damage to demons. Cooldown: 30 seconds. Attack range: 10 meters.]
Mark was thrilled as he looked at the attributes before him.
Fantastic, a ranged attack!
Compared with the Demon Hunter Holy Light Fist, the new Holy Light Finisher Fist cost much more and had a much longer cooldown, but its damage and range had increased dozens of times over.
Just what you'd expect from the Intermediate Demon Hunter Set!
What an upgrade!
Mark happily accepted the Intermediate Demon Hunter Set.
"Change equipment."
At his command, the instant he touched the Suit, nanometal climbed up his fingers and spread across his entire body.
In a single instant, Mark had changed into his new Suit.
Golden patterns surrounded the red-and-blue webbing, and the inverted triangular eye lenses could continuously track Mark's eyes, contracting and expanding on their own.
The entire Suit had a gorgeous metallic sheen.
Seeing Wayne's stunned expression, Happy explained:
"This Suit was made using the latest nanometal technology. My clearance isn't high enough, so I couldn't get any technological devices installed. It only has the most basic nanometal repair function."
Wayne circled Mark, looking him over. "It's already awesome."
Mark, meanwhile, turned toward the smooth glass wall.
In its reflection, he saw his current appearance.
Silver light armor covered his chest, wrists, shoulders, knees, and calves, with simple yet mysterious magic circles spread across its surface.
On the chest armor, three swords surrounded a blue magical gem. At first glance, he looked every bit an elite demon hunter.
Every part not covered by metal armor was covered in black leather armor.
Those seemingly weakly defended areas, however, were specially designed to preserve the player's mobility.
After all, the Demon Hunter Set provided overall defense. Both the metal and leather armor offered the same defensive capabilities.
The only shame was that it had no Defense Helmet.
With a helmet, its defensive capabilities might have gone up another notch.
Still, Mark was already very satisfied.
"Excellent, Pete. Nini may not be here, but I'm very pleased with your service."
Happy forced a smile.
"As long as you're pleased. Now, let's get down to business."
"Is there a quest?"
Mark's eyes lit up, and he turned to Bruce.
"Bruce, we're so lucky."
Wayne looked eagerly at Happy. "Don't I get a reward?"
Happy ignored him.
He glanced at Pepper Potts. Taking a deep breath, she said to Mark:
"We haven't heard from Tony in a long time."
"What happened to Nini?" Mark asked.
Pepper Potts looked worried. "Before this, Tony left New York for the Middle East to get away from those agents pestering him. He went to handle this weapons sale personally."
"We suspect the Green Goblin is behind it."
Happy said worriedly, "The Green Goblin isn't just targeting the weapons factories for destruction. He's after Tony, too. He knows perfectly well that as long as Tony is alive, Stark Industries won't fall.
"He must have done something behind the scenes. That's why we've lost contact with Tony."
After hearing this, Mark rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
"Nini ran into a demon during her mission. This is getting tricky."
Pepper Potts: "..."
Once again, she whispered into Happy's ear, "Did he really understand what we said?"
Happy looked apprehensive, too.
"I think he understood."
As he spoke, he opened the Handheld Computer and showed Mark the route map to the Middle East.
"Mr. Demon Hunter, it's right here." He pointed to the location on the map.
Mark also saw a quest prompt.
[Quest: save Nini.] [Quest hint: follow the map to the quest location and save Nini, who has been imprisoned by a demon.]
Seeing that, Mark was finally certain.
"Nini really has been imprisoned by a demon!"
He clenched his fist. "Don't worry, leave this to me. Where's the portal?" he asked Happy.
Happy pointed toward the private airfield behind him. "The teleportation process might take a while."
"How long?"
"Less than ten hours."
"This game is way too realistic."
"What?"
"Nothing."
Mark said, "I've still got something to do. I'll decide in a bit."
He took some scraps of Green Goblin Armor from his game inventory and handed them to Pepper Potts.
"Please forge the Dragon-Slaying Sword for me."
Pepper Potts: "..."
"What's the Dragon-Slaying Sword?" she quietly asked Happy.
Happy felt a headache coming on.
He scratched his forehead, then silently took the Stun Baton from his waist and handed it to Pepper Potts.
"Try giving him this."
"Will that work?" Pepper Potts gave him a strange look.
Happy closed his eyes. "Give it a try."
"All right."
Pepper Potts tentatively handed the Stun Baton to Mark.
"Here. This should be what you wanted."
"Wow, what a magnificent Dragon-Slaying Sword."
Mark raised the Stun Baton high, electricity crackling.
BOOM!!
Outside the Weapon Shop, lightning flashed and thunder rolled across the night sky. After the Dragon-Slaying Sword absorbed the lightning's power, a demon dragon's roar rang out wildly.
ROOOAR!
[Dragon-Slaying Sword] [Rank: Ultra-Rare] [Attribute: health +500] [Skills: Evil Dragon's Roar, Demon Dragon's Wing.] [Evil Dragon's Roar: consumes 1 spirit point and 100 health. Sword light forms a Demon Dragon Shadow to attack the target, dealing 200 magic damage and 200 physical damage along its path. Attack range: 20 meters. Cooldown: 20 seconds.] [Demon Dragon's Wing: consumes 2 stamina per second to manifest demon dragon wings for flight. No cooldown.]
At that
moment, the Dragon-Patterned Sword in Mark's hand roared wildly, its dragon-head hilt releasing a brand-new power that surged into his body.
It felt as though a valve somewhere inside him had opened.
His entire body was bathed in holy light.
"Yes! I can fly, too!"
Mark was beside himself with excitement.
Under the horrified gazes of Happy and the others, Spider-Man leaped up and flicked his wrist, shooting webbing into empty space.
Demon Dragon's Wing!
Somewhere on the other side of that emptiness, someone seemed to be holding the webbing tight.
The webbing clung firmly to empty space, and Spider-Man used that force to swing higher and higher into the sky.
"Wade?"
Wade swallowed. "That defies science."
Happy's mouth fell open. "Who's helping him pull the webs?"
"It must be some undead spirit," Pepper Potts guessed.
The next second, she cried out.
"Don't!"
BOOM!!
With a tremendous crash, Spider-Man plunged from the sky, swinging the raised Stun Baton down. Mark smashed straight through a wing of the private plane at the airfield.
Demon Dragon's Roar!
"Hahaha! That's the Dragon-Slaying Sword for you! So powerful, so powerful!"
Amid the erupting flames, Mark held the Stun Baton high and looked at Happy.
"Pete, I'm ready. We can go save Nini now."
Staring at the ruined private plane, Happy's cheek twitched.
"Sorry, your teleportation time just got longer."
