The violent commotion on the surface woke Killer Croc, Wei Lun, in the sewers. As the riot squad's armored vehicles advanced through Gotham's streets, the intense tremors from above fully ignited the angry beast's inner frenzy.

He tore through the flagstones, caught the manhole cover as it flew into the air, and hurled it hard at an armored vehicle.

Wei Lun's atavistic strength came from the Red, one of the universe's primordial forces, just like the Green possessed by Swamp Thing. But unlike the "green," which brimmed with life, the "red" represented wildness.

In Killer Croc's hands, the manhole cover became a deadly discus. It punched through the armored vehicle's protective bars and glass, sliced through the seat, and decapitated the terrified driver on the spot.

"A monster! It's a monster!!!"

"Open fire! Cover the civilians' evacuation!"

After a brief panic, the riot squad quickly regrouped.

The soldiers scattered to find cover, while machine guns popped up from the roofs of the armored vehicles in the rear, ready to teach this fool a lesson.

But how could Wei Lun, filled with the power of wildness, be so easy to deal with? A volley of rifle fire merely scraped sparks off his scales, and even a howitzer only knocked him half a step back.

The vehicle-mounted machine guns were perhaps the only weapons that did any good.

Ratatatat!

Amid the spitting flames, Wei Lun covered his face, now punctured with several bloody holes, and roared in fury. He bent forward and rammed the armored vehicle in front of him into the air, bit a soldier hiding behind it in half, then snapped off a roadside streetlight and hurled it like a javelin.

Boom!

The speeding lamppost pierced the first armored vehicle and struck the second vehicle's fuel tank.

The violent explosion
