"Charge with me." Gendry swung the warhammer in his hand. Luan River Castle was now under attack on two fronts. Before the Freys could react, the cavalry had to charge into the passage first. The side gate could not admit many men at once, but it was enough.

"Kill them!"

"Kill!" The knights, who had long been itching for action, spurred their steeds. Amid the bleak, piercing calls of the horns, they followed Gendry out of the woods and low hills beside Luan River Castle's West Castle.

Woooo! The murderous sound of horns spread out from the woods, followed by the hurried pounding of hooves. A torrent of steel swept straight toward Luan River Castle. The cold night had not yet ended, and war made it seem extraordinarily long.

"Long live Storm!"

"The Liberator!"

The golden-cloaked knights led the charge, heading straight for the drawbridge of Luan River Castle's West Castle. Its walls had all manner of defenses, but long years of guard duty had made the men lax. Moreover, the catapults and several volleys of arrows had already left them dazed. Enemies seemed to be everywhere in Luan River Castle.

"The Liberator is here!" Bluebeard laughed heartily, then gathered his men in the passage, holding it fast with round shields and a Spear Formation.

Gendry drove his black steed onward, with Ser Barristan Selmy and Anguy close behind. The defenders on the walls had been dazed by the repeated attacks, but they finally understood the enormous scale of the assault.

An arrow or two occasionally grazed Gendry, but he wore heavy armor and moved nimbly. Neither the arrows nor the falling stones hindered him in the slightest. Braving the fierce battle, Gendry finally charged into Luan River Castle's passage.

"Make way, make way!" Gendry shouted. Bluebeard understood at once.
