"Go to the Dragonpit. Lord Randyll needs people like you who can work. You're no knight. You're an ordinary warrior now. Find your path in life there."
Gendry looked at the Hound. He had clearly lost his purpose in life and was adrift. Hauling bricks for the White-and-Black Gang would do him a world of good.
"Yes." The Hound rose as though he had been pardoned.
Gendry arranged accommodations for the Starks, but the family would not live in the Red Keep again, not even under threat of death.
That place bore the traces of northerners' deaths. In the end, they stayed in the barracks.
South of the Blackwater Rush, Gendry hurried back to the Blackwater Rush Camp without stopping to rest and took Daenerys along. The magic dragons moved with them.
They happened to encounter new guests: the large Tyrell family from the Reach. These people would be staying in the "Rose Camp" to the west, but had come to pay their respects first.
Gendry and Daenerys rode out to greet them. The streaming fire overhead was the dragons' breath, the dragons' shadows.
Margaery hurriedly dismounted, while her grandmother and mother stepped down from the wheelhouse.
"Your Highnesses," Margaery called. Dressed in green, she had brown hair and brown eyes, and was slender and beautiful. "I'm so delighted you could come. You do me a great honor."
"Just call me Daenerys," Daenerys said with a smile, helping Margaery rise.
Gendry, meanwhile, had the Rose's mother and grandmother rise. Ser Garlan, Ser Loras, and Lord Mace attended beside the ladies.
"How kind of you to come meet me in person, along with this flock of foolish hens and silly roses," Lady Olenna said. "The dragon kings of old were never so approachable."
"You have quite a sense of humor."
