Cloak-Breaking Strike!
Shinji crossed a hundred meters in an instant, almost as though he had teleported, and appeared behind the enemy.
Shhk!
A blade flashed!
The seaweed-headed Cursed Spirit had both hands gripping the edge of the Mirage Shell. Suddenly, he froze, and then his lower half toppled sideways onto the ground.
Shinji grabbed the back of the creature's neck and dragged his upper half off the Mirage Shell.
"Don't kill me! Don't kill me!"
"I know lots of secrets! I can tell you all of them!"
This was Shinji's first time encountering a Cursed Spirit so afraid of death. He had not even done anything yet, and the creature was already begging for mercy. It gave him no sense of accomplishment at all, and that really annoyed him!
He planted the Kubikiribōchō beside him and drew the Snakeskin Sword, ready to finish the creature off. As for those supposed secrets, he had no interest whatsoever.
What secrets could a mere Cursed Spirit possibly know?
But just as he was about to strike, something the creature inadvertently said brought a look of surprise to his face.
"Dagon told me to stay here and lure powerful humans over! He said there was a big plan that required our cooperation!"
"Our? Who else besides you? Who is this Dagon? And what is this big plan?"
Having deactivated [Cursed Speech], Shinji immediately fired off a string of questions. He had a vague feeling that what the creature had just said might be true.
But what sort of plan required Special Grade Cursed Spirits to draw attention, possibly more than just one or two of them?
And the fact that this Dagon could make the creature before him obediently stay here and work was proof enough that he was no ordinary character either.
