In the dim void, countless skeletal remains floated about. Among them was an incomparably enormous skeleton, motionless like a mountain range. At the highest point of the skeleton's spine sat a figure in meditation. Strange green mist curled around him, within which the traces of the Great Dao could faintly be seen.

Within the green mist, a humanoid outline could barely be made out. He seemed to be cultivating, his palms constantly shifting through techniques and even producing layer upon layer of afterimages.

He suddenly stopped, as though he had seen something, and spoke in an icy voice. "What, has the Immortal Dao not yet begun its calamity?"

A face emerged from the boundless darkness. It was unimaginably vast, showing only the outlines of its features, with no eyes, mouth, or teeth visible. It looked remarkably like the Eternal Dao Strategy Jiang Changsheng had encountered before.

"The Immortal Dao has already begun its calamity, but I suspect this is a trap laid by the Dao Ancestor, meant to lure us into acting."

The enormous face did not open its mouth, yet its voice echoed through the void without end.

The figure in the green mist snorted. "Even if it is a scheme, so what? He can slaughter and suppress the Eternal Clan, but would he dare destroy his own Immortal Dao?"
