Under Saitama's impatient gaze and Genos's threats, Armored Gorilla briefly explained the purpose of their operation.
"Then let's go straight there and take them down. If we don't deal with them, they'll keep coming to cause trouble."
Baicang said this to Saitama, and Genos nodded in agreement beside him.
"All right, let's head out now."
Baicang tossed the piece of Beast King he was holding in front of Armored Gorilla, then started walking toward the House of Evolution's base.
"Now?" Saitama and Genos both looked at Baicang in confusion.
Without a word, Baicang held up a supermarket sale flyer he had picked up off the ground.
"Oh, right! Tomorrow's Saturday, and the supermarket's having a big sale. We won't have time. Let's go today."
Saitama hurried after Baicang. After confirming that the House of Evolution wasn't the organization that had created the rampaging cyborg, Genos followed them as well.
Looking at the tall building built against a cliff not far away, an utterly exhausted Baicang finally breathed a sigh of relief.
After all that running, they had finally found it.
At first, he had driven with Saitama in the car while Genos ran alongside them. That had been pretty comfortable.
Unfortunately, once they reached the depths of the mountains, they couldn't drive any farther and had to continue on foot.
Saitama, that walking cheat, wasn't even worth discussing. All that running hadn't affected him in the slightest, and whenever something blocked his way, he would jump higher than the mountains.
As a cyborg, Genos didn't understand the meaning of rest as long as he still had power. He just kept running forward.
Fortunately, Baicang had been exercising regularly, and his body was continually growing stronger. He had barely managed to keep pace with them, though it had left him completely worn out.
"So this is the House of Evolution?"
The three arrived beneath the moss-covered building. Saitama looked up and counted the floors. "One, two, three... eight floors."
"Genos, destroy this building," Baicang told him.
"Yes!"
Genos bent forward and spread his hands, charging up. Powerful currents and sparks flashed in his palms. Once the energy reached its critical point, he swung both hands forward, aiming the cannons in his palms at the building.
Countless torrents of flame slammed into the building. Amid deafening explosions and blinding flashes, Genos flattened the entire structure, along with the cliff behind it, in a single blast.
"Nice work, Genos."
Looking at the ground, which seemed to have been scoured by missiles, and the rubble scattered everywhere, Baicang couldn't help reflecting that Genos really was pretty strong early on. How had he gotten less and less impressive later?
"Hey, you two, couldn't you at least give them a little dignity?"
Saitama walked over, speechless. He had wanted to experience matching wits and trading blows with the villains.
"Sorry, Master," Genos immediately apologized to Saitama.
"Ignore him. He's the one who gives people the least dignity, and he still has the nerve to complain. Come help me look for anything suspicious left behind."
Baicang flipped Saitama the middle finger to express his profound contempt.
"Yes, Senior Brother Baicang."
Genos began searching the surroundings, while Saitama strode toward Baicang menacingly.
As Saitama and Baicang tussled, Genos discovered an iron door in the ground amid the ruins and called out, "Senior Brother Baicang, is this what you meant?"
"Coming, coming!"
Baicang escaped Saitama's iron fists and ran over. Although Saitama hadn't used any strength and was only fooling around with him, it still frightened him a little.
He was afraid that even a light touch would make him explode.
"Don't you run away!"
Saitama followed him over. Seeing the iron door in the ground, he casually peeled the heavy door open like a soda can. A teeth-grating screech came from the metal as it bent and warped.
"Looks like a passage underground?"
Saitama looked at the stairs descending beyond the door and said to Baicang and Genos, "Seems like it'll be fun. Want to go down?"
"Of course. The people from the House of Evolution might be hiding down there."
Baicang stepped forward and kicked apart the infrared surveillance camera beside the entrance. He had Genos turn on his flashlight, then headed down with Saitama.
Meanwhile, Dr. Genus of the House of Evolution stood before his final trump card, Carnage Kabuto, the strongest fighter in the House of Evolution.
"Control me? Hahaha! Are you an idiot?"
Carnage Kabuto laughed maniacally at Genus, who stood before him.
"I'm the finished product of the new humanity you've always dreamed of! My intellect and my body far surpass you old-generation humans. That means you should be taking orders from me!"
Facing the enormous monster, Genus couldn't stop trembling at his mere presence. Cold sweat kept beading on his forehead.
This was his proudest creation to date, but he was still a failure. He refused to obey his creator, was mentally unstable, and possessed a twisted desire for destruction. Genus had already lost count of how many of his clones he had killed.
"I don't care even if you kill me. There's a specimen I must get my hands on, no matter what. But he's terrifyingly strong. You're the only one who can deal with him."
Genus trembled as he spoke, his tone almost pleading.
At the words "terrifyingly strong," Carnage Kabuto stopped whipping his tongue around and gave Genus a puzzled look.
Genus switched on the projector, displaying a photograph taken before Baicang had destroyed the surveillance camera.
There were three people in the photograph. On the right stood a handsome young man with short white hair. On the left was a cyborg whose palm was emitting light. In the middle was a bald man picking his nose.
Genus stared at Saitama picking his nose, intense longing in his eyes, then slowly turned to Carnage Kabuto. "I hope you can deal with him... dead or alive."
Carnage Kabuto let out a strange laugh as he looked at the photograph, clearly very interested in the "dead" part of "dead or alive."
"It's pretty spacious down here. This is exciting!"
Saitama eagerly walked at the front, with Baicang and Genos following behind on either side.
After descending the stairs, the three of them entered an extremely long corridor. With lights now illuminating their surroundings, Genos put away his "literal" flashlight.
Seeing this, Baicang suggested that Genos install bulbs in his eyes. That would look cool and make fighting more convenient. Ideally, they should be able to change colors for use in different situations.
Saitama also thought glowing eyes would look pretty cool and raised his hand in support of Baicang's suggestion.
Since both his master and senior brother agreed, Genos immediately promised to ask Dr. Kuseno to modify him once they returned.
Suddenly, Genos stopped and looked toward the far end of the corridor.
"I'm detecting life signs ahead."
As though he had sensed something, he hurriedly told Saitama and Baicang, "Master, Senior Brother, two things are heading this way!"
Baicang stared intently ahead, while Saitama looked somewhat puzzled.
Crack! Crack! As glass shattered again and again, the lights at the far end of the corridor went out one by one.
"Hahaha! Found you!"
Carnage Kabuto charged toward the three of them with a shout, carrying a battered Genus in his right hand.
"There are three of them. Which one did you mean?"
"The one in the middle... the bald one." Carnage Kabuto was moving so fast that Genus couldn't breathe and could barely force the words out.
"Then we don't need the other two!"
Carnage Kabuto reached them in an instant. He dropped Genus and slammed both hands toward Genos and Baicang.
