I spent over four months writing this Inuyasha novel, and the Inuyasha plot alone came to 800,000 Chinese characters. Personally, I felt I had explored just about everything the plot had to offer. Inserting other scattered plotlines would only have dragged it down.
At first, I wanted to write some storylines in the Modern Era World plus a mainland arc, but many readers didn't want to read about the Modern Era World, so I only touched on it briefly. The drop in subscriptions during that stretch was truly brutal, and it still left me shaken even now.
As for the mainland arc, hardly anyone was looking forward to it, and very few people brought it up. Subscriptions also dropped heavily before the New Year.
Also, there weren't many flaws left in this book's standalone Inuyasha plot. Only chapter 70 was somewhat controversial, and in chapter 137, everyone asked me not to put several plot twists in a row because they were a headache. Two hundred and fifty-five chapters wasn't a lot, but for just the Inuyasha storyline, it certainly wasn't a small number.
Moving on to other worlds afterward would only have made it a mishmash and gone against my original intention in writing Inuyasha.
Taking all these points into account, I decided to finish before the New Year.
Next came the side stories and planning a new book. The side stories would cover the protagonist having children and using the Tree of Ages as a springboard to reach worlds such as Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan. There was also the immortality the protagonist pursued.
The new book would mainly be an anime crossover.
Please look forward to it.
