After parting ways with Myotismon, Cerberumon had followed the Digital Spirit to this landmass in the Digital World.
It was an enormous landmass called the Saber Continent.
Then, before Cerberumon could ask the Digital Spirit anything, the Digital Spirit suddenly vanished, seemingly afraid of him.
Cerberumon very much wanted to say that he did not eat Digital Spirits.
Unfortunately, that Digital Spirit had not given Cerberumon a chance to explain.

A long, piercing howl of excitement rose from Cerberumon's throat.
Along with that howl came a special, concealed fluctuation of data.
It was a special data fluctuation that only Demon Beast Digimon belonging to Cerberumon's or Hellhoundmon's evolution lines could detect.
After releasing that particular data fluctuation, Cerberumon lay on the ground and waited for his own kind or lower-stage Demon Beast Digimon to arrive.
Before long, the first group of Dobermon closest to Cerberumon, along with a few Hellhoundmon, arrived before him.
After sensing the Mythology data fluctuations Cerberumon deliberately emitted, these newly arrived Demon Beast Digimon all chose to submit to him.
After accepting their submission, Cerberumon told them to stay where they were and wait with him for more of their kind to arrive.
And so, these Demon Beast Digimon arranged themselves in orderly tiers around Cerberumon according to their respective evolution stages and strength.
As time passed, another group of Digimon approached from the distance.
Soon, Cerberumon could make out what that group of Digimon looked like.
Why had Cerberumon suddenly taken an interest in this approaching group of Digimon?
Because this second group of arrivals consisted of neither Dobermon nor Hellhoundmon, but Gururumon.
