Ch. 202Yggdrasill's move, DigiSoul began to spread

Omnimon X used Yggdrasill’s data to erase the X Antibody and update the Digital World with Mo Yan’s DigiSoul program. In the lava world, Mo Yan and the Royal Knights discovered the new power and began battling with their dragon-shaped DigiSouls.

  • Omnimon X received a new mission from Yggdrasill and used All Delete on the Crystal Ball, erasing X Antibody data while installing new data throughout the Digital World.
  • The Digital World returned to its original state, expanded, and gained the DigiSoul program that Mo Yan had developed and Yggdrasill had revised.
  • Mo Yan recognized the program while fighting Examon, Monzaemon, Magnamon, and their derivative Digimon.
  • Examon and the other Royal Knights learned to use DigiSoul and sent huge dragon-shaped manifestations into battle.
  • Mo Yan released his own refined DigiSoul, and his dragon-shaped power clashed with the Royal Knights’ four DigiSouls.

Ch. 203Yggdrasill gave Lucemon an ultimatum

Mo Yan discovered that Yggdrasill’s DigiSoul carried digitized Ultra Power that could give Digimon souls and far greater potential, then used it to adjust his own DigiSoul during the battle. In the Realm of the Gods, Lucemon received the program and faced a choice between becoming an Embodiment of Virtue or pursuing a new path as an incarnation of light, leaving the future of the angels and her own rule uncertain.

  • Mo Yan compared his DigiSoul with Yggdrasill’s and realized Yggdrasill’s version contained immense vitality derived from digitized Light Power.
  • Mo Yan recognized that Yggdrasill was testing DigiSoul and used its version as a template to modify his own while fighting the Royal Knights.
  • Yggdrasill transmitted the DigiSoul program to Digimon whose names she remembered, including the sleeping Lucemon.
  • Lucemon realized that the Light Power in DigiSoul could help her remove the D-Reaper’s darkness, but using it would mean giving up the path to Virtue Authority.
  • Lucemon weighed becoming an Embodiment of Virtue and leading the angels against leaving the Realm of the Gods to pursue Holy-Demon Unity, and recognized Yggdrasill was forcing her to choose.

Ch. 204Lucemon's response

Lucemon considered Yggdrasill’s proposed evolution paths and decided to pursue a more realistic plan while preparing to confront Homeostasis. She dispatched the Three Great Angels on separate missions, then entered dormancy to slow the spread of darkness within her.

  • Lucemon recognized that Yggdrasill’s gift of DigiSoul was a reminder to abandon her plan of ruling both the Realm of the Gods and the Dark Area.
  • Lucemon copied DigiSoul and gave copies to the Three Great Angels to study and merge with after Yggdrasill perfected the program.
  • Lucemon ordered Ophanimon to retrieve Mo Yan and SageMon’s research on converting light and darkness and approved SageMon’s earlier plan.
  • Lucemon sent Blazing Angemon to Iliad to grant Jupitermon’s request and have him transfer the Sun and Moon Authority to Mo Yan.
  • Lucemon ordered Cherubimon to tell Qinglongmon that the Four Holy Beasts must repay their debt.
  • After the Three Great Angels departed, Lucemon entered dormancy to ease the spread of darkness within her.

Ch. 205Ancient Species Agumon

Sassumusmon and the others completed programs for Parrotmon, then sent it to the Human World to provoke the Ancient Species Agumon living with the Yagami siblings. The chapter ended with Taichi Yagami finding Hikari Yagami and the rampaging Agumon as Parrotmon materialized and Agumon prepared to fight it.

  • Sassumusmon and the others finished writing scanning and detection programs and embedded them into Parrotmon's data.
  • Koromon became part of the Yagami siblings' lives, and Hikari Yagami fell asleep holding it while Taichi Yagami went to sleep on the upper bunk.
  • Koromon evolved into a large Ancient Species Agumon, which burst apart the bunk bed and headed for the window as its wild instincts awakened.
  • Hikari Yagami clung to Agumon's back while it rampaged through the streets, and Taichi Yagami ran out to search for them.
  • Parrotmon materialized, its programs scanned the globe and sent information to Sassumusmon, and Agumon faced Parrotmon in a fighting stance.

Ch. 206Parrotmon vs. Ancient Greymon

Ancient Species Agumon attacked Parrotmon, who defeated it after completing its data transmission. Ancient Species Agumon evolved into Ancient Greymon and was knocked unconscious, leaving Taichi Yagami and Hikari Yagami calling out to it.

  • Ancient Species Agumon attacked Parrotmon with Baby Flame, but Parrotmon shattered nearby glass with a high-frequency cry and knocked it down.
  • Taichi Yagami checked Ancient Species Agumon's injuries while Hikari Yagami tried to stop it from fighting again.
  • Ancient Species Agumon evolved into Ancient Greymon, surprising Parrotmon.
  • Parrotmon sent Ancient Greymon flying and knocked it unconscious.
  • Taichi Yagami called Ancient Greymon's name, and Hikari Yagami blew her whistle.

Ch. 207The Hikarigaoka incident ends

Hikari Yagami’s whistle awakens Ancient Greymon, and Sassumusmon and the others send him and Parrotmon through a Digital Gate to contain their battle. After the incident, they examine a list of children with spiritual traits and focus on Ken Ichijouji, whose trait is Gentleness.

  • Hikari Yagami’s whistle and Taichi Yagami’s concern awaken Ancient Greymon, who attacks Parrotmon with an enhanced Super Flame.
  • Parrotmon counters with Mjölnir Thunder, and Sassumusmon and the others open a Digital Gate that absorbs their energy and pulls both Digimon away from Hikarigaoka.
  • Taichi Yagami whistles as Ancient Greymon disappears, while he holds his crying sister Hikari.
  • Sassumusmon and the others send Parrotmon back to the Realm of the Gods and put Ancient Greymon to sleep in a Digital Space for examination.
  • Sassumusmon, Cerberumon, and Myotismon review a list of children with spiritual traits and focus on Ken Ichijouji’s Gentleness.

Ch. 208Sassumusmon's proposal

Sassumusmon, Cerberumon, and Myotismon suspected Homeostasis had manipulated the bearer list, but decided to let Ken Ichijouji receive the Crest of Gentleness through trials of their own design. After they requested harder trials, Piximon failed to persuade them to lower the difficulty.

  • Sassumusmon and the others questioned the list after seeing Hikari Yagami and Ken Ichijouji named as suitable bearers for Crests.
  • Sassumusmon proposed giving Ken the Crest of Gentleness while controlling how he earned it, and Cerberumon and Myotismon argued with him before accepting his plan.
  • Sassumusmon suggested recruiting Digimon from various factions and using designs from the Main Body's Data Archive to support the trials.
  • Genai and Piximon saw the three Digimon change their expressions, but Genai did not explain what had happened.
  • Sassumusmon, Cerberumon, and Myotismon requested increased trial difficulty, while Piximon protested without success.

Ch. 209Aftermath

Sassumusmon, Genai, Piximon, Myotismon, and Cerberumon analyzed the Ancient Species Greymon to identify the power Hikari Yagami had left in his data. They discovered it resembled a variant of Calumon’s Evolution Light and contained traces of the Dark Ocean, then disagreed over whether to free the Greymon or destroy him.

  • Sassumusmon and the others suspended the sleeping Ancient Species Greymon and compared his data with ordinary Digimon to isolate traces of Hikari Yagami’s power.
  • The group found that Hikari’s power could promote evolution, shift between light and dark attributes, and resembled a modified version of Calumon’s Evolution Light.
  • Piximon discovered traces of the Dark Ocean in the power, remembered the Three Great Angels’ instructions, and calmed down.
  • Genai suspected Hikari’s power confirmed that Homeostasis had arranged her role, while Cerberumon’s toothy smile frightened Piximon.
  • Piximon argued that the Ancient Species Greymon should be freed, while Genai insisted he should be destroyed because he had encountered the chosen children and been affected by human Spiritual Power.
  • Piximon protested that every Digimon had a right to live and suggested installing a protective program instead of killing the Greymon.

Ch. 210The "Machinedramon" Blueprint

Sassumusmon, Genai, and the others discussed having the Iron Empire modify Ancient Greymon into a Machinedramon, while Ophanimon visited Witchelny to deliver Lucemon’s request and confirm SageMon’s plan. The chapter ended with SageMon inviting Grand Mage Beast to talk as they went for a walk.

  • Sassumusmon, Genai, and the others examined a blueprint for an Iron Empire machine modeled on Machinedramon, and Piximon asked whether they planned to modify Ancient Greymon.
  • Piximon offered to hear their terms, but she fell silent when Cerberumon and Myotismon stopped scrutinizing her.
  • Sassumusmon reminded Genai that the Iron Empire was participating in the Digivice project, and they began discussing how to get the wealthy organization to pay for the modification.
  • Ophanimon arrived in Witchelny and asked SageMon and Mo Yan’s associates for their materials on converting light and darkness, then confirmed that Lucemon had accepted SageMon’s plan.
  • SageMon gave Ophanimon the prepared data and asked her to tell Lucemon he would visit Holy Heaven after making preparations.
  • After Ophanimon departed, SageMon invited Grand Mage Beast for a walk, and Grand Mage Beast agreed so he could ask SageMon some questions.

Ch. 211SageMon's arrangements

SageMon explained to Grand Mage Beast why he had made arrangements with Lucemon and why he intended to take risks as the Digital World’s great sage. He sent Grand Mage Beast to deliver nine Strange Devices to the other Ancient Warriors and bring their gifts to the Realm of the Gods.

  • Grand Mage Beast asked SageMon what agreement he had reached with Lucemon amid rising tensions between the Digital World’s factions.
  • SageMon told Grand Mage Beast that Digimon had to act and grow stronger to preserve their independence and freedom.
  • Grand Mage Beast offered to help SageMon, who gave him nine Strange Devices bearing the marks of the elements and light and darkness.
  • SageMon instructed Grand Mage Beast to deliver the devices to their owners, collect items from them, and meet him in the Realm of the Gods.
  • Grand Mage Beast realized that SageMon wanted him to find the other nine Ancient Warriors of the Ten Warriors.

Ch. 212Angewomon and LadyDevimon

Grand Mage Beast visited Angewomon and LadyDevimon before setting out to seek the Ancient Warriors, sharing research reports from Sassumusmon’s evolution and accepting their invitation to spend time together. Meanwhile, Sassumusmon and its allies contacted the Iron Empire, where Frankenmon answered.

  • Grand Mage Beast arrived at Angewomon and LadyDevimon’s divided room and apologized for not visiting sooner.
  • Angewomon and LadyDevimon received Grand Mage Beast’s reports on the coexistence of light and darkness, then accepted his invitation on a date.
  • Sassumusmon, with Cerberumon and Myotismon’s help, contacted the Iron Empire after Genai agreed to the proposal.
  • Frankenmon answered Sassumusmon’s call as the Iron Empire’s switchboard operator.

Ch. 213Coordinating with Frankenmon

Sassumusmon negotiated with Frankenmon for the Iron Empire to transform a copied Ancient Greymon with human spiritual power into Machinedramon and return him without hidden programs. Frankenmon secured Machinedramon’s approval, and the Iron Empire also agreed to provide Digimon for the group to command when the Digivice project began.

  • Frankenmon replaced Datamon as the Iron Empire’s liaison and asked Sassumusmon and the others to explain their request.
  • Sassumusmon showed Frankenmon the sleeping Ancient Greymon, revealed that he was a copy connected to Hikari Yagami, and proposed that the Iron Empire modify him.
  • Frankenmon readily agreed to transform Ancient Greymon into Machinedramon but hesitated at the demand that the Iron Empire return him without backdoor programs.
  • Frankenmon referred the no-backdoor condition to his superior, and Machinedramon approved it.
  • Sassumusmon asked the Iron Empire to send Digimon for the group to command once the Digivice project began, and Frankenmon agreed to provide failed experimental specimens.

Ch. 214Eight becomes nine, fresh upheaval

Frankenmon received Ancient Greymon while Sassumusmon’s group sent Myotismon and Cerberumon to their trial grounds. Sassumusmon then added Ken Ichijouji and the Crest of Gentleness to the Digivice plan, summoning powerful wills to review the change.

  • Frankenmon received Ancient Greymon and ended the call with Sassumusmon and the others so he could begin his research.
  • Genai gave Myotismon and Cerberumon Digital Spirits to guide them to their trial grounds and help them gain authority to modify them.
  • Sassumusmon warned Myotismon and Cerberumon to show restraint, but they exchanged smiles and ignored his warning.
  • Genai urged Sassumusmon to investigate the eight Digi-Eggs, but Sassumusmon revealed a list of nine names that included Ken Ichijouji and the Crest of Gentleness.
  • Sassumusmon activated a program entrusted to him by Mo Yan and summoned the wills of Homeostasis, Lucemon, Qinglongmon, MedievalDukemon, TyrantKabuterimon, Machinedramon, and others to consider the revised plan.

Ch. 215Homeostasis's Explanation

Homeostasis explained why Hikari Yagami became the Crest of Light and why she added Mo Yan’s Crest of Gentleness to the list. She took BloomLordmon’s DigiCore to remove its spiritual infection and stabilize its Digimon form, while Sassumusmon, Genai, and Piximon waited below.

  • MedievalDukemon, Lucemon, and Qinglongmon questioned Homeostasis about changing their plan, and Homeostasis explained that Hikari Yagami had formed from data she found in the Dark Ocean.
  • Homeostasis admitted she had added Mo Yan’s Crest of Gentleness and explained that its human Spiritual Power had eroded BloomLordmon’s DigiCore.
  • TyrantKabuterimon confirmed Homeostasis’s account, and Homeostasis offered to remove the spiritual infection and stabilize the DigiCore in exchange for borrowing it.
  • Homeostasis signaled for TyrantKabuterimon to hand over BloomLordmon’s DigiCore, and the other powerful Digimon left after their discussion.
  • TyrantKabuterimon reluctantly gave Homeostasis the DigiCore and left, while Sassumusmon, Genai, and Piximon watched a DigiCore fall from above.

Ch. 216BloomLordmon's Further Division

BloomLordmon reappeared through the DigiCore and explained that Homeostasis had turned the human Spiritual Power within his core into a Digi-Egg. The Digi-Egg would draw out that influence as it grew, but it and BloomLordmon would eventually have to fight to sever their connection.

  • BloomLordmon materialized from the DigiCore and shared memories with Sassumusmon through their Network of Consciousness.
  • BloomLordmon produced a Digi-Egg from data in his core, and Genai and Piximon realized Homeostasis's intent.
  • BloomLordmon explained that the Digi-Egg would absorb the traces of human Spiritual Power in him, then battle him to sever their connection.
  • Genai and Piximon examined the Digi-Egg while Sassumusmon asked BloomLordmon whether he had added any tricks.
  • BloomLordmon said he had done nothing extra because he had made the Crest of Gentleness, the Digi-Egg, and was essential to the Digimon carrying out the Digivice.

Ch. 217Nine Digi-Eggs

Sassumusmon investigated strange changes in his data while BloomLordmon and Genai negotiated how to use eight Digi-Eggs to strengthen BloomLordmon’s weaker egg. The chapter ended with nine Digi-Eggs arranged in a circle before Genai and the three Digimon.

  • Sassumusmon suspected his unusual thoughts were an aftereffect of his forced evolution and recorded his data changes for Mo Yan.
  • Genai and Piximon examined BloomLordmon’s Digi-Egg and found it was weaker than the other eight.
  • BloomLordmon proposed using the eight stronger Digi-Eggs to compensate for the weaker one, while Piximon objected.
  • Genai agreed to the plan on the condition that the eight Digi-Eggs could still evolve further, and BloomLordmon accepted.
  • Sassumusmon received memories from BloomLordmon, and Genai took the eight Digi-Eggs from storage, forming a circle of nine eggs.

Ch. 218Courage unbroken, shield unshattered-a bug?

Genai, Sassumusmon, and BloomLordmon modified the Digi-Egg intended for Botamon, combining data from Taichi Yagami, his Digivice, and the Crest of Courage to create a program that could connect a human child to a Digimon and help it evolve. Their simulations revealed that Taichi’s courage could give WarGreymon’s shield extraordinary defense and regeneration.

  • Genai, Sassumusmon, and BloomLordmon chose two Digi-Eggs as their first targets because they had already studied their data structure.
  • Genai converted the Botamon Digi-Egg into data, and the three Digimon decided to replace its ancient-species data with a program linking the Digimon to its human partner and Crest.
  • Genai retrieved Taichi Yagami’s data, while Sassumusmon selected the Crest of Courage and a Digivice; the three combined these with Digi-Egg data to build and implant the new program.
  • Genai, Sassumusmon, and BloomLordmon fine-tuned the modified data and ran simulations, finding that Taichi’s courage gave a simulated WarGreymon’s shield exceptionally strong defenses and regenerative powers.

Ch. 219TyrantKabuterimon's "Wild Idea"

Genai, Piximon, Sassumusmon, and BloomLordmon tested and modified Digi-Eggs for Taichi Yagami and Yamato Ishida, managing evolution-related bugs while debating how the children’s Crests should work. After completing the simulations for Yggdrasill’s eggs, they moved on to the special Digi-Egg and Crest combinations TyrantKabuterimon had selected.

  • Genai, Piximon, Sassumusmon, and BloomLordmon compromised on weakening—but not removing—the Courage effect that made WarGreymon’s shield unbreakable while courage held.
  • The group found that different forms of courage could send Koromon toward undead or Virus evolutions, so they restricted his possible evolution paths.
  • During Yamato Ishida’s simulations, the group saw his sensitive, introverted, suspicious nature and recognized his yearning for friendship.
  • Sassumusmon recorded Yamato’s personality issues and sent the notes to Devimon (Myotismon), while the group completed simulations for Yamato Ishida and Unimon without major bugs.
  • The group modified Yggdrasill’s Digi-Eggs, which were intended to lead to WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon, then selected TyrantKabuterimon’s eggs for the insect of knowledge and the plant of innocence.

Ch. 220Comparisons only made it hurt

Genai, Sassumusmon, and BloomLordmon modified the Digi-Egg combinations for TyrantKabuterimon, Joe Kido, and Sora Takenouchi, using simulations to match each Crest to its human partner. Their comparisons of the children's family backgrounds left them recognizing how Taichi Yagami's supportive home had helped shape his courageous personality.

  • Sassumusmon proposed making TyrantKabuterimon's Knowledge combination inspire curiosity, and Genai and BloomLordmon agreed to create the Insect of Knowledge.
  • The three completed the Insect of Knowledge combination after Koushiro Izumi's data proved compatible with curiosity.
  • Simulations of Joe Kido's Honesty combination revealed that his straightforwardness caused conflicts and hesitation, so Sassumusmon sent a record about him to Devimon.
  • Genai and the others quickly completed and tested the Love combination for Sora Takenouchi.
  • The three examined the children's family backgrounds and concluded that Taichi Yagami's harmonious upbringing had helped foster his courageous, positive nature.

Ch. 222The aftermath of the Hikarigaoka incident

Genai and the others completed the modifications to all nine chosen children’s Crest, Digivice, and Digi-Egg combinations, then turned their attention to the Human World a year after the Hikarigaoka incident. They found the children’s families had moved to Odaiba and planned to wait until the children were old enough before bringing them to the Digital World.

  • Genai and the others strengthened Ken Ichijouji’s Digi-Egg with Ancient Species data and connected it to Ken, the Crest of Gentleness, and his Digivice.
  • Simulations showed Satoshi Ichijouji repeatedly taking Ken’s Digivice and Wormmon, so Genai promised to handle the problem.
  • Genai and the others decided Devimon would help Takeru Takaishi learn the value of hope before completing his combination.
  • After consulting Piximon, Genai and the others connected Hikari Yagami’s power to the Crest of Light, her Digivice, and the Angel Digi-Egg without running simulations.
  • Genai and the others placed all nine Digi-Eggs in a Nurturing Chamber to control their hatching, then learned that the chosen children’s families had moved from Hikarigaoka to Odaiba.
  • Genai and the others suspected Homeostasis had guided the families to Odaiba and decided to wait until the children were around ten before bringing them to the Digital World.
