A world that had already fallen into deathly silence.
It stood apart from the Nine Domains, yet it was a world unto itself.
After traveling through space and time for half a month, Xu Zimo finally appeared in a stretch of space.
His feet landed firmly as he arrived deep within the Great Arid.
Xu Zimo looked around. This place seemed to be a mountain range.
He rose into the air and stood amid the heavens, wanting to overlook this land.
But it was very strange.
Though the void of the Great Arid did not forbid flight,
There seemed to be an invisible mist within it, obstructing his vision.
It prevented Xu Zimo from seeing the road ahead.
All around him, there seemed to be mountain ranges.
The mountains twisted and wound, like startled dragons in flight, stretching away and vanishing into the mist.
Xu Zimo was in no hurry to search for the Desolate Tree.
Because he had no target.
He could not wander about like a headless fly.
He wanted to first find some natives of the Great Arid, especially people familiar with it.
Perhaps he could obtain useful information.
Although this was a mountain range,
By all reason, it should have been thick with forests and lush trees, deep and dark.
But the Great Arid was filled everywhere with the Desolate Rule.
It was not difficult to imagine that plants simply could not survive elsewhere.
Even within the mountain forests, the trees all looked listless, as though they might wither at any moment.
Their leaves had already yellowed, and their trunks were frail beyond measure.
The skies of the Great Arid were as unpredictable as wind and clouds.
Rain suddenly began to fall.
And the rain only grew heavier.
Like an overturned basin, all
