Taking the lift back down into the volcano, he could see corpses lying in the corridor, both human and Basilisk. The humans were all Inquisitors.

Most Inquisitors used instruments of torture as weapons, such as whips and Inquisitor's Candlesticks. The one named Ghiza was an interesting exception: he used Ghiza's Wheel. A wheel might be hard to picture, but an electric circular saw with an extended handle should give anyone an idea.

That was right. Ghiza's Wheel was an oversized circular saw. It could be swung, used to bludgeon people, and set spinning with a buzz to saw things apart. It looked quite intimidating. But Zhao Si would never use it. He would only put it in his Inventory as a collectible. It was too bizarre. The stranger the weapon, the sooner its wielder died. He had no time in an environment like this to practice using something like Ghiza's Wheel.

The Inquisitors' weapons were only one aspect. Another was that some of them could use special Magma Sorceries. Supposedly, the region around the volcano had once possessed unique incantations, but they had been lost.

This was one of the rare matters that had little to do with the Erdtree. Exactly what civilization the creatures who originally used these incantations belonged to, and whether they worshipped Mt. Gelmir or the God-Devouring Serpent within it, remained unknown.

Judging by the "magma," they probably worshipped the volcano and lived alongside the serpent, just like Rykard.

Through his own ingenuity, Rykard had recreated those incantations in the form of sorcery. Who knew whether the God-Devouring Serpent had offered him guidance?

Stepping over the corpses, Zhao Si headed toward the Gelmir God-Devouring Serpent.

The corpses were there because he had still ended up accidentally exposing himself, leaving him no choice but to kill everyone
