"Please help me."
Zhao Si heard the strange voice again.
He said to Godrick, "Did you hear that?"
Godrick was examining the Dragonkin Soldier's corpse. "Hmm? What is it?"
"Nothing. I heard something strange." Zhao Si listened closely, but could not tell where the sound came from.
Godrick suddenly jumped away from the corpse he was examining. "Look!"
Following the direction of Godrick's finger, Zhao Si saw liquid metal indeed seeping out of the Dragonkin Soldier's body and flowing away through cracks in the ground.
Being liquid really was convenient. Any gap could be used. Without the liquid metal holding it up, the Dragonkin Soldier's corpse crumbled to ash.
It seemed this Dragonkin Soldier had been created by combining the immortal essence of Ancient Dragons-namely, dragon scales-with liquid metal.
Clearly, the results had been poor. One plus one had not amounted to more than two. The elements had very likely clashed, making this artificial life even more fragile.
"He won't come back to life, will he?" Godrick still felt shaken.
"He won't," Zhao Si said. "I slashed him with three kinds of flame. There's no way he survived."
Unless the essence the Dragonkin Soldier had received belonged to the Gelmir God-Devouring Serpent, but that was impossible.
Worried that the strange voice he had heard might pose a danger, Zhao Si said to Godrick, "Let's split up. Take Helena and investigate that temple."
Zhao Si pointed at the two-story building nearby. Its doors were shut, and judging by its shape, it was probably another temple.
"If there's a Great Rune inside, leave it for me to deal with." Zhao Si intended to pack up the Great Runes he found and send them to Miquella for study.
Perhaps they could help the Albinaurics.
Godrick had no objections, and Helena asked no further
