To master power, one first had to perform a ritual.
Without a proper ritual, how could anyone hope to master mysterious powers?
Besides, pleasing the gods through a reverently performed ritual was itself the first step toward gaining power.
It was just that the Zamor's "god" was far too abstract. An outsider like Blaidd really had no clear idea of it.
But out of respect for the Zamor and their ritual, Blaidd could not express any dissatisfaction.
After all, he was asking them for help, and the Zamor had not demanded a thing.
Since the Zamor were being so generous, Blaidd naturally followed their every instruction.
And so he took off his armor and cloak, leaving only a piece of cloth wrapped around his waist.
The cold wind blew his wolf fur every which way. Even though Blaidd was accustomed to the cold, without any clothes on, he still felt it in his bones.
Blaidd had a fine physique, complete with a genuine wolf's lean waist.
He really did look a little like Maliketh.
His muscles were not exaggeratedly developed, but balanced, compact, and streamlined.
He appeared to have little body fat and a smaller build, but that was only compared with a hulking mass of muscle like Serosh.
The strength hidden in Blaidd's bones was not to be underestimated.
The frozen lake was part of the waterways of the Mountaintops of the Giants, but it stayed frozen year-round.
A thick layer of ice covered its surface.
But that did not stump the resourceful Zamor. They cut holes in the ice, then caught the fish inside to eat.
"The first clan"
Because they lived in the Mountaintops of the Giants, the fish here had few natural predators. Food in the water was surprisingly plentiful, so they grew huge and plump.
