Chapter Summaries

At the Golden House, Tartaglia realized Rex Lapis had not died and used the Sigils of Permission to break the seal on Osial. Ningguang saw the sea stirring as the ancient god began to rise.

• Tartaglia failed to find the Gnosis in the divine vessel and concluded that Rex Lapis had staged his death.
• Li Qiuzhi taunted Tartaglia and urged him to turn himself in, but Tartaglia refused and dismissed Foul Legacy.
• Tartaglia gathered the Sigils of Permission and began channeling their power, while Keqing realized he intended to release Osial.
• Keqing, Li Qiuzhi, and Lumine tried to stop Tartaglia, but the energy beam forced them back and pierced the Golden House's dome.
• The beam struck the sea, forming a vast vortex as Osial rose beneath the water, and Ningguang recognized that serious trouble was coming.

Ningguang and the adepti prepared to face the God of the Vortex while the mystery of Rex Lapis's murder remained unsolved. After Childe escaped the Golden House, Keqing and her companions saw the Jade Chamber heading out to sea and decided to follow it.

• Ningguang summoned Ganyu and Shenhe, then received Moon Carver, Cloud Retainer, and Mountain Shaper as they arrived at the Jade Chamber.
• Moon Carver accused the Liyue Qixing of failing Liyue, while Ningguang said the investigation had found no clear evidence about Rex Lapis's murder.
• Mountain Shaper urged the group to focus on the God of the Vortex, and Ningguang asked Ganyu to organize the Millelith and reassure the city.
• Ningguang and the adepti prepared to confront Osial at sea, sending the Jade Chamber out with Millelith aboard.

Li Qiuzhi, Keqing, and their companions joined Ningguang and Liyue’s adepti aboard the Jade Chamber to plan against the released Overlord of the Vortex. After they discussed delaying the god until his seal could reactivate, the Jade Chamber reached the waters where Osial’s heads had emerged.

• Li Qiuzhi’s group and Keqing arrived at the Jade Chamber, where Ganyu introduced herself and said the ship would reach the god’s waters in about an hour.
• Ganyu escorted Li Qiuzhi’s group and Keqing to Ningguang’s office, where Ningguang, Shenhe, Madame Ping, Cloud Retainer, Moon Carver, and the Conqueror of Demons had gathered.
• Keqing warned the group that Childe had broken the seal with Sigils of Permission and that the Fatui might also attack.
• Cloud Retainer expressed disbelief that the Fatui had enough Sigils of Permission, and Ningguang acknowledged that she had suspected their involvement.

Ningguang and the adepti defended the Jade Chamber from Osial’s breath and prepared a counterattack with the Guizhong Ballistae. As the ballistae fired at Osial’s heads, Li Qiuzhi assessed the high levels of the adepti and Ganyu.

• Osial attacked the Jade Chamber with a beam of energy, and Mountain Shaper’s amber shield cracked under the blow.
• Ningguang created a Jade Screen that deflected Osial’s beam into the sea.
• Ningguang summoned three Guizhong Ballistae, and Moon Carver, Cloud Retainer, and Mountain Shaper began charging them while Madame Ping struck one of Osial’s heads.
• Paimon asked whether she, Li Qiuzhi, and Lumine could join the fight, and Keqing explained that they needed six ascensions and awakened Stella to battle at the adepti’s level.

Ganyu froze Osial with a Frostflake Arrow, but he broke free and summoned waves of Hydro Creatures to attack the Jade Chamber. Li Qiuzhi and the others defended the Guizhong Ballistae while Ningguang joined the attack, leaving Osial under renewed pressure from the ballistae and Geo gems.

• Ganyu struck Osial with a Frostflake Arrow and froze his heads and the surrounding sea.
• Shenhe recounted an embarrassing story about Ganyu, then Osial broke free and summoned Hydro Creatures.
• Keqing ordered the Millelith to defend the Jade Chamber, and Li Qiuzhi, Lumine, and Shenhe joined the fight to protect the Guizhong Ballistae.

Li Qiuzhi searched for Osial’s weakness as the god’s attacks dragged the Jade Chamber toward the sea. He suspected Osial’s weak point lay underwater and asked Madame Ping for a way to see through the water.

• Ningguang raised a Geo shield around the Jade Chamber, deflecting Osial’s rain of water projectiles.
• Osial created a powerful vortex beneath the Jade Chamber and began pulling it toward the sea.
• Xiao pierced one of Osial’s heads, but it dissolved and quickly reformed elsewhere.
• Li Qiuzhi realized Osial’s weakness might be in his submerged body, but the dark water blocked his view.

Li Qiuzhi found Osial’s weaknesses, allowing the adepti and Liyue’s defenders to hurt the god more effectively. Tartaglia then sent the Fatui to attack the Guizhong Ballistae, but Osial broke free of the Cryo and unleashed a massive blast at the Jade Chamber.

• Madame Ping used Adepti Arts to let Li Qiuzhi see through the seawater, and he located Osial’s weaknesses between his necks.
• The adepti redirected the Guizhong Ballistae toward Osial’s weaknesses, while Ningguang and Ganyu focused their attacks there as well.
• Tartaglia ordered an Electro Cicin Mage to lead Fatui forces in destroying the Guizhong Ballistae.
• Fatui soldiers arrived through portals and attacked the ballistae, but Shenhe froze their bullets and Li Qiuzhi swept the soldiers into the sea.

After Osial destroyed the Guizhong Ballistas and broke the Jade Chamber’s barrier, Ningguang planned to sacrifice the Jade Chamber to drive him back into his seal. As the Jade Chamber approached Osial, Ningguang asked Li Qiuzhi to smash it down with the group’s help.

• Xiao tried to stop Osial’s blast with his spear, but the attack shattered the Jade Chamber’s defensive barrier and destroyed the formation platform.
• Li Qiuzhi and the adepti rescued everyone who fell, then returned them safely to the Jade Chamber.
• Cloud Retainer reported that Osial had destroyed the Guizhong Ballistas, leaving the group without a way to suppress him.
• Ningguang proposed using the Jade Chamber as a bombardment weapon, and the adepti agreed to help.

Li Qiuzhi, Lumine, Ningguang, and the adepti used the Jade Chamber to strike Osial and drive him back beneath his seal. After the battle, Paimon wondered what had happened to Rex Lapis.

• Ganyu froze Osial while the adepti empowered Li Qiuzhi and helped prepare the Jade Chamber as a projectile.
• Lumine shattered the plaustrite, and Li Qiuzhi’s psychic tentacles launched the Jade Chamber down onto Osial.
• The Jade Chamber exploded, and Li Qiuzhi received 125220 Experience for defeating a powerful enemy.

Madame Ping explained that Rex Lapis had staged his death so Liyue would learn to govern itself, and the adepti agreed to leave the Qixing in charge. Back in Liyue Harbor, Lumine and Paimon decided to find Zhongli and ask what had happened.

• Madame Ping told the adepti and the Qixing that Zhongli was Rex Lapis and that his apparent death was meant to end Liyue's reliance on him.
• Cloud Retainer and Mountain Shaper departed, while Xiao and Moon Carver accepted that Liyue should be left to the Qixing.
• Madame Ping left the aftermath to Ningguang and Keqing, then the group returned to Liyue Harbor with Ganyu's help.

• Li Qiuzhi, Paimon, and Lumine encouraged Shenhe to join them, but she chose to find her own understanding rather than ask Zhongli for an answer.
• After realizing the Jade Chamber had been destroyed and Shenhe had nowhere to stay, Lumine invited her to visit Mondstadt, and Shenhe accepted.
• The group learned Zhongli had gone to Northland Bank and speculated that he might have worked with the Fatui and Tartaglia.

Li Qiuzhi considered using his Experience Points to challenge La Signora, but Zhongli handed her the Gnosis as agreed and explained why he had staged his death. Zhongli was satisfied that Liyue could protect itself, and he invited Li Qiuzhi, Lumine, and Paimon to a meal so they could talk.

• Li Qiuzhi used the Golden Eye of Conviction to see that La Signora was level eighty-six and considered spending his Experience Points to fight her.
• Zhongli gave La Signora the Gnosis under his contract with the Tsaritsa, leaving Lumine and Paimon bewildered.
• Zhongli explained that he had staged his death to test whether Liyue could manage without him as he considered retiring.
• Zhongli said the adepti and the Qixing had handled the crisis well, while Tartaglia complained that he might be wanted in Liyue.

After asking Zhongli about the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles and the Abyss Order, Li Qiuzhi gained a specialty from the battle against the All-Devouring Narwhal and rapidly raised his level. The group returned to Mondstadt, where Lumine pulled Shenhe away to explain the common sense Li Qiuzhi had nearly exploited.

• At Third-Round Knockout, Lumine asked Zhongli about the deity who took her brother and the Abyss Order, but Zhongli had little information beyond identifying the deity as the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles.
• On the walk back to Mondstadt, Li Qiuzhi acquired the Abyssal Vortex specialty, gaining Hydro control and a sliver of vortex authority from the All-Devouring Narwhal.
• Li Qiuzhi reached level seventy, chose the Charging Body specialty, and gained lifespan extension through Harmonization.

After reaching level eighty, Li Qiuzhi chose Elemental Immunity and improved several skills before returning home with Lumine, Paimon, and Shenhe. Fischl teleported to meet him, then noticed Shenhe and asked who she was.
