Himeko, who had been listening to Stelle and Herta's conversation nearby, breathed a sigh of relief. Herta had little empathy; she only treated Lingchen differently. Everyone else looked the same to her.
Herta's words made the corner of Stelle's mouth twitch. True, she did not belong to the space station.
"Let me put it this way, Stelle. If you stay on the space station, you'll participate in Herta's experiments until she eventually loses interest in you. Then you'll be assigned an ordinary researcher's job and live out the rest of your life."

"I choose to join the Express."
"Yay!" March 7th cheered. There were people her age, but someone with a similar past, of the same gender, and just as lively was a rare find.
"Welcome aboard, Stelle."
Welt and Dan Heng welcomed her as well.
After what had just happened, both of them had a favorable impression of Stelle.
"This works too. It'll keep things fresh. I'll notify you when I need to study you. Or, when you come over yourself, you can let me know through Asta or Lingchen."
"Just let her contact you directly."
"That works."
The Door.
