"Huh...? Your eyes are open, so why do you still look half asleep?"
Yoru Mitaka waved a hand in front of Asa Mitaka's eyes, but Asa barely reacted.
A moment later, though, Asa came back to her senses. "What time is it?"
"Judging by your memories, you're about to be late, so hurry up and leave."
Yoru spoke flatly.
"It's already this late!"
The moment Asa saw the time, she snapped fully awake.
The clock showed that it was already seven fifty-something. Students at her school had to arrive by eight ten at the latest.
Although there was still half an hour of morning self-study starting at eight ten, and the teachers would turn a blind eye if students arrived during that time.
But late was still late, and Asa certainly didn't want to break school rules.
Asa then got out of bed as fast as she could, washed up, put on her school uniform, and headed straight for the door, all in one smooth sequence.
"Wait."
Just as Asa was about to leave, however, Yoru stopped her.
"If you've got something to say, hurry up. I don't have time!"
Asa spoke urgently.
"Don't you have any bread at home? Head to school with a slice in your mouth. You might run into that classmate of yours, Asaba."
Yoru suddenly came out with that.
"Where did you get that ridiculous idea?"
Asa found it rather baffling.
"Isn't that what happens in those manga of yours? The heroine's running late and leaves with a slice of bread in her mouth, then bumps into the hero, who's also in a hurry. They both end up late, but it brings them closer."
Yoru spoke as she recalled that scene from the manga.
"You idiot. You really took a manga seriously."
Asa was a
